My Fiance has a thing about the door being closed, so we close it. I couldn’t care less either way!

Curlycupcake:  We keep it open unless we have guests or if we’re staying at someone elses house – our room just gets way too warm with it closed.  We also often don’t come to bed at the same time so opening and closing it will disturb the other person.

We sleep with the door closed. We do it because of our pets, if we leave the door open then the cats will run around like crazy all night. If we close the door with them in our bedroom they will sleep in their car beds and (usually) not cause issues.

My animals are sometimes a pain in the [email protected]@, so I leave my door on a crack with a weight behind it so it can only open enough for them to come in and out at their leisure. They sleep in my bed with me. And the kitty’s may have to tinkle in the litter box at night. Meowsers!

We keep the door closed because of the cats.  They won’t leave us alone and let us sleep so they stay outside the bedroom.

We have a cat who HATES closed doors, so we have to keep it open, but we don’t mind. She will literally beat down the door and scream if we leave it shut for more than about 10 minutes, that includes the bathroom door too, she freaks out when I take baths because she can’t get in to check on me…

I ALWAYS sleep with the doors closed.  I have done this since I was a kid, and so has Darling Husband.  It just carried into married life.

We have a dog who sleeps in our bed, but doesn’t want to leave any room we are in so it’s a non issue.

I’m scared of that thing open!  Closet doors have to be closed too, lol.

Yes and no.  We have a lab and he likes to sleep in the bed with us, which is annoying because he’s 80lbs.  So most of the time the door is shut to keep him out.  We open it in the morning and he comes running up the stairs and jumps into the bed to cuddle with us.

Sometimes open, sometimes closed. We have a 1.5 year old who is in the same room as us. We work the doors according to temperature.

    Everyone has interesting answers!

Right now, definitely open. There is no really no reason to close the door(unless we’re have “alone time” and kick the dog out).

When I was younger, it was closed for privacy or my siblings going to the restroom, dad getting ready for work, etc.

We always sleep with it open (except if we have guests which is like 1-2 times a year). I never considered sleeping with it closed – I think that’s super weird actually. There’s no one else in the house -so why would I close it?!

We sleep with it closed. Mainly because we have a puppy. She sleeps on her dog bed on the floor but we don’t want her wandering out of the bedroom and causing a mess while we’re asleep.

I also sleep with it closed because I’m usually the first to get in bed and I’m sensitive to light and sounds…so that way my Fiance can do whatever he wants to do. His office is next to our bedroom.

Curlycupcake:  Me and my SO don’t agree with how we sleep but have had to compromise on it. I usually sleep with the door pushed closed, so not fully closed and got a crack still open. I don’t know why but I always feel more comfortable this way, whereas I kind of feel suffocated with the door closed and kind of feel a bit penned in. However, my SO insists on the door being shut when he sleeps over. It’s gotten to the point where I try to live with it being closed during the night but when awake to keep it open.

No, we sleep with it open. We have cats who would go bonkers if we had it closed.
