I have a very vivid imagination and anytime I’m around stairs I can just picture myself tripping and falling down them.  I ALWAYS look down when I’m using stairs!

Always, and in the dimly lit stairwell at my house I always feel my way down the stairs with my toes! I’m way to clumsy to risk it.

Always!  I am constantly tripping over my feet otherwise…I’d rather not nearly break an ankle every day I go to work!  LOL

Yes…better safe than sorry! I especially look when I’m going down the stairs. I have a healthy desire to keep all my teeth and neck intact and free from a stair-falling accident! 🙂

I definitely do. Granted, I usually look down when I walk anywhere.

Down yes, up no. And I text/read books while walking. I’m an accident waiting to happen.

Not every time, but sometimes!  I mean, when going up, where else is there to look?  I’m not going to crank my neck up just so I can be looking at the room above me until I get there, haha.  When going down, I look down more lately than ever since I broke my ankle a few months ago and am being extra careful not to misstep.

Ever since I fell down THREE flights of stairs……….YES!!!!!

ps- it was horrible and so embarrasing! I was a bridesmaid for my cousin’s wedding!

Depends on the stairs. If its the ones in say the house I grew up in, I can run up and down them pretty well, no visuals necessary. In new places I look to asses the size and steepness and can usually just use the railing once I get a feel for things instead of looking down the entire time.

In heels or on uneven ground – absolutely.  Walking in a city – I’m always looking for where the curb is.  But standard even floors, no.  And at home, i don’t need to see the stairs.

I glance up/down real quick to see if there’s anything in the way, but I generally look forward, not up or down.

Sometimes – it really depends.  Like a PP said, I can do the stairs at my house or my parent’s house without a second thought.  But other stairs I’m less familiar with, I do look down.

Stairs I take every day? No. Stairs I’m not as familiar with? Yep.

Not really!  I’m not one for falling up/down stairs either.
