So I’ve been contemplating what I’d like to do regarding tuxes for the men in the bridal party. I think I’m pretty set on doing black tuxes, and I’d also like to have touches of teal. However, I don’t want it to be too much and look prom-y.
So I was thinking of doing the following:
Black suit/tux for all, with…
-Groomsmen: White vest, teal tie
-Best man: Black vest, teal tie
-Father of bride: Black vest, black tie
-Groom: Black vest, white tie
I’m not sure if this is a good idea, though. I’d like to have everyone with the same type of suit/tux, but have the vest/tie combo vary.
Also, I have been debating between tuxes and suits. I find that I don’t really like the look of the satin lapel. Is that weird? Also, the suit rental place, while offering a really reasonable deal on tuxes ($85 for all tuxes/suits, 5 or more Bridal Party members and the groom’s is free), is charging $8 EACH for pocket squares, which seems outrageous to me. I like the look of the pocket squares (maybe to add a splash of teal to everyone) but I don’t know that I’d like to spend that much on what is basically fabric swatches.
Finally, my fiance is a little on the heavy side and is very long-waisted. Any suggestions as for how many buttons we should be going for on suit jackets? The other attendants are either the same build (his brother/best man) or are relatively trim and will look fine in anything.
Thanks for any help you can provide! I know this is sort of long and disorganized.
