@Ciabs: Glad you liked my idea. I have no clue how to add a picture to a PM so I thought I would just attach it here for you. We had a blast cutting out all of the letters and then we just made color copies and sent them out. People loved them!
This is a ransom note:
We have several demands if you ever want to see Bill and Becky again. You will
1. Save the date of July 31, 2010
2. Be ready for fun
3. Tell No One
Formal invite to follow

this is super cute, but i don’t understand the “tell no one.” is that just to make it seem more ransomy?

That’s really cute. Is the “tell no one” part to keep your guests from spreading it to uninviteds?

I think this is really original. Do you have a big invite list? It looks like this would take a while….

Oh we just made one original and then color copied it to send out to our guest list. You’re right on the money PrncssDva, we said tell no one so it wouldn’t spread like wildfire to the uninvited. For example I only invited 2 or 3 coworkers and I didn’t want to word to get out. Plus is also sounds more ransomy.

I can’t take credit it was my FI’s idea. We currently have about 5 save the date magnets on our fridge from other friends & family and we thought….hey, let’s do something different. Poured ourselves a whiskey and started cutting. It was a fun project and one of the only wedding projects that we did together.

I figured that’s what it was for. Good idea 🙂
