@crayfish:  I agree with you on this.  But if the end user is happy with a snapfish album, they will never see value in a true high quality archival professional album.

hey hun, i’m not sure exactly where Manville is in contrast with where i’m located in NJ but the photographer we chose is wonderful. Her name is Jeri Houseworth http://www.jerihouseworthphotography.com/

she is amazing, and maybe if she doesnt do your area or isnt available on your date she may have some referrals for you.

Check around her website and maybe you’ll find something you like!

Best of luck!

Honestly, I think if you’re going to bother paying a pro, you might want to spend more than the 10-15% figure on one.  You will have three things from this wedding that will last the rest of your life- your husband, your ring, and your photos.   I budgeted according to that theory.  Food is great and all, but it’s gone within a couple hours.  So is your makeup, and you’ll never wear your dress again.  Your pictures will be in your house forever, and maybe even in your grandkids’ houses one day.

That said, if you’re really miffed about price, have you considered contacting local-ish art schools to see if any of their students might be interested?  They have all the editing software already I’m sure, and the seniors are probably looking for senior project work, which could yield some interesting shots… Just a thought.
