@sit1010: i think it’s a cover your a** kind of thing. If you have the dress altered anywhere else and then DB steams it and something happens, they are liable. They’re in this for the profit and if they aren’t making money, then it’s not worth it to them. 

Funny as it may seem, at times the majority of profit on the gown is in the alterations, not the mark up of the dress from the manufacturer.

The one thing I highly recommend is having the dress steamed WAY before the wedding day. A good friend of mine took her dress from California on the plane to the midwest and the local drycleaner burned the gown. She had 48 hours to find a new dress. Just an f.y.i. 😉

I’ve been in david’s bridal twice and they are horrible help. 


I looked at flower girl dresses there and I went to ask a sales lady a question. She looked right at me and walked away.


I tried on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and they made me go find the next size of a dress.
