You definitely have a point as to why thye would need 4 days complements of you.  Ithink you might be right that they want a vacation.  I will say that if they are advertising for free, you have to know even before you pick up the phone there is some catch.  Either way, I wouldn’t be interested in them.  I doubt they’re that good.

hm.. i don’t so much mind. at one point i was planning a destination wedding, and so i understand your plight. that being said, i don’t see it as false advertising. it would be ridiculous to expect someone to fly to my d.w. on their tab and then shoot the wedding for free. a lot of photographers have you pay their flight and boarding, and THEN charge for the photography on top of that, so i say.. if you can find a good photographer who you love who will shoot your wedding for free, do it.

Why in the world would anyone put in 30-40 hours of work (its not just shooting time, its tremendous editing and planning time) for no money and no opportunity to even relax for a day or two after? That makes no sense at all. You’re getting the images and labor for free in exchange for travel expenses and perhaps an extra night or two for them to enjoy being there not on the clock. THAT is the incentive to do all that work for no money and risk traveling with their gear and it makes perfect sense.

The really talented photographers will charge you their full rate AND travel.

Well, with most photographers you have to pay the package AND their travel. So…technically it IS free. 🙂

their work is free. if you wanted a regular photographer who didn’t live in the area, you’d still have to pay for travel and acommodations.

The person who bumped it just came here to advertise. they started a thread to advertise and I told that’s that wasn’t cool so they deleted it.
