misslioness :  Hole-E-shit. What is wrong with this woman?

First off, depending where you are located, what she wants to do is ILLEGAL (as breeders require strict licensing and it’s illegal to sell/adopt dogs that haven’t been fixed).

Secondly, it sounds like she thinks this will be some kind of quick fix to her financial trouble. “Oh, I’ll just have the femal dog pop out about 6 pups and then I’ll have $18k!!! And do it all over again!” Pretty sure it it was that easy, everyone would do it. And to go for $3k, it has to be a specialty breed in high demand like a Malinois. And for that purchasers have high high standards.

Thirdly, what kinhd of monster gets rid of their FAMILY MEMBERS in order to make a buck? Like yeah, if she can’t afford all of her pets, it’s probably a good idea to rehome a few, but to then go have the new dog pop out puppies seems so greedy and hypocritical.

I predict that after the first batch of puppies, she’ll be unable to sell them and then she’ll bitch and moan and start a kickstarter about it.

Call the SPCA, police or whatever is equivalent in your area. I’m an f-ing rat when it comes to people like this. A knock on the door and some paperwork filed is usually enough to scare basic people.

Irresponsible pet owners vex me to no end. I’ve taken action numerous times. I’ve already told my SIL that if she gets another animal I’m calling the police. I’ve told her son, straight up to his face, not to ask his mother for an animal because she’ll cave, neglect it and it will be another animal rehomed! They’ve gone through 2 dogs (a husky and a boxer so tougher dogs to rehome) and like 3 cats in 1 year.

She sucks. A friend of mine’s family was dog breeders growing up. Each dog was bred once, maybe twice, and if there was ANY sign of issues with the pregnancy, the dog was never bred again. Also, their dogs sold AT MOST at 1800 so not sure where this $3,000 is from. People paying that amount are probably going to want AKC papers and a history of AKC champions.

Regardless, your friends a moron and I’d probably stop talking to her.

She is at a terrible point of her life, by her own bad decisions and many innocent animals will pay the price. Awful.

Edit- might be different prices where she is but German Shepards go for about $300-$400, not $3000 where I live. She needs a reality check

misslioness :  Wow. Breeders keep turning her down and she still doesn’t get it?

ETA: This especially makes me sick because I have a friend who runs a dog rescue and they can’t get them homes fast enough. Okay, I’m done, I swear…

I hate this for so many reasons. As someone who is part of a husky rescue and volunteers at my local animal shelter, the fact that an unqualified, unlicensed “backyard breeder” is trying to bring more animals into the world to solve her financial problems just burns me. There are already thousands of unwanted pets that need homes – for someone to add to that just for financial gain is incredibly selfish. Especially the fact that she gave up her own animals to do so!!!! I could never dream of giving up my pets for any reason and reading what your friend is doing made my heart hurt. You are right for feeling upset by this and I truly hope she comes to her senses and decides not to move forward with her “plan.”

misslioness :  Look on the bright side – she doesn’t deserve those pets anyway and they’re off to a better life with someone else.  Poor puppy that has to stay there, though frown  She sounds like she’s falling apart in life and could probably use some professional help.  I doubt there’s much you personally can do.
