And LIMOS>> Holy Shit Limos!! Seriously.. pick me up.. wait for me at church and dump me at the hall with my wedding party.. YOU WANT $1000 TO DO THAT!??!?! ARE YOU FLIPPING MAD?????

SERIOUSLY. I looked into getting a limo for the wedding party, saw the price and was like, “NOPE. OUR SUBARUS ARE FINE.” Future Mother-In-Law used to drive limos and is appalled at the cost of them now. I think we might end up renting a double decker red bus, but I’m worried about how the Bridal Party is going to get back to their hotels because they’re not within walking distance of the reception venue.

I’m not to the point of wanting to whore myself out yet, but I’ve made subtle hints to SuperFine that my feelings would not be hurt if he want to swing his penis at a local gay club for the extra money.

I really wouldn’t want him to do that, but it’s one of our running jokes when I start freaking out about our budget.

Yes, the wedding budget!  I had sticker shock when I first started planinng and things aren’t as expensive here as they are in most other places. But because I am cheap, I refused to pay the wedding world norm for the prices and searched high and low for vendors in my budget.  I found  DJ for $140 for 4 hours (yup… and he has his own lights, bubble machine and a few other extras).  I also found a bus rental company that rents a party bus (micro bus) for $120 for the whole day.  You bet I was all over that… forget the limo, they are so last decade LOL.

I just could not fathom paying some of the prices these vendors were realistically charging because they catered to people with much higher budgets than mine. I haggled and bargained with my florist and caterer and they were all too happy to help me out to get my business…they are working with MY budget not me trying to work with theirs. And I am happy with the deals I found. If you search lon and hard enough, you will find vendors in your budget or al least ones willing to work with you.

I agree, somethings are just so darn expensive. We didnt even bother paying 500 bucks for a limo. We would much rather spend that money on our honeymoon.

It didnt make sense to me to pay so much to be in a car for a total of an hour or so. I dont regret it one bit.

I see no problem with an iPod DJ… you’ll definitly get the music YOU want and it’s easy to stop start. Plus it’s free (provided you own an iPod). You really don’t need a DJ at all (I dn’t see the point in them, personally). Ask a friend to MC, it’s a pretty easy job.

Haha, I’m HOPING we can just hook up our iPod and go with it – we’ve compiled a playlist and don’t really want a DJ because they’ll just freestyle it, and I don’t want a band. My mother disagrees.

What all are you getting with the $2k? The DJ we’re going with quoted us a few different packages sarting at $675 but going up to $2k, but for $2k we got a bunch of lights and gobo or whatever thing with our photo in it (it’s like this weird gel light thing that will project a photo of us on the wall/dance floor).
