Right on! That awesome, thanks for posting it 🙂
I was almost to scared to open this for fear of what may be inside, But i’m glad i read this.
One of the things i’m over is Rape being shown in Movies and TV shows, I’ve started checking the parental guidance on IMDB for movies that are MA or R rated just to make sure there isn’t anything in there i don’t want to see.
Thanks for posting this!
I was afraid to open this too but Im glad i did! Very powerful words…
If there was a like button i would have pressed it!
It really is time we as women stood up and made hollywood and the media change. We as women have the most influence over society. We are mothers, teachers, and honestly most of us contol how our household dollars are spent. It is time we say enough and unite!
This is great. Hard for me to read at points, but thats the point. I’ve been “over rape” for years.
What movement is this from, though? It seems like she’s promoting something specific, and I kind of hope its bigger than just another manifestation of The Vagina Monologues…
touche!! great post
Awesome! Thanks for posting.
Awesome post. One billion women? That is an incredibly sad statistic. Thank you for posting this.
This is a wonderful article. Thank you for sharing.
This is great, very powerful indeed. I am so over it too. I wish there were a way to change it. The part that really captured me what this,
“I am over the passivity of good men. Where the hell are you?
You live with us, make love with us, father us, befriend us, brother us, get nurtured and mothered and eternally supported by us, so why aren’t you standing with us? Why aren’t you driven to the point of madness and action by the rape and humiliation of us?”
It made me think, and I know this isn’t exactly what the quote meant but, these men who rape, do they not have a mother who once loved them, a sister who once played with them, a neice or daughter they once cared for? And it reminds me of that quote from Tupac Shakur in his song, ” Keep your head up”,
And since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it’s time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can’t make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you’re fed up ladies, but keep your head up
