My mom and I loooove them, just like that! I’ve made two or three people try them and they think they’re disgusting. I can’t understand why, I think they’re really delicious.

@mrstj2b: I totally would steal pieces from my mom when she was chopping them for dinner. I haven’t eaten a whole one or anything, but I get how yummy they can be ๐Ÿ™‚

My mom used to eat pieces while making potato soup and such.  I was never a fan.  My puppy getes really excited if I drop a piece while cutting though!

That texture just has NO appeal. But in this same vein, I know people who eat tomatoes and onions like people eat apples.

Wnen I make potatoe casserole, I always eat some of the raw potatoes from that (along with the cheese and sour cream and other ingredients in the recipe). I’ve never tried them with just salt though.

I thought you got sick and died form eating raw potatoes, but ……I’ve tried it!

You are normal ๐Ÿ˜‰

@mrstj2b: Have you tried jicama? It’s similar texture, but not as…uh, potato-y? Sort of pear flavored. You can just chop it up and eat it raw as well.

@mrstj2b: You are not the only one. My mom and I eat raw potatoes with a bit of salt. Yummy! Everyone I have met, until now, thought I was gross for doing that lol.

@chasesgirl: Cutting up a couple tomatoes with a dash of salt and pepper is one of my favourite snacks ๐Ÿ™‚

@FutureMrsTimmins: See, but that kind of makes sense. My friend literally bites into it like an apple. That is the odd part.

@chasesgirl: Yeah, can’t do the biting part. I have cut it up. Same with biting into a whole, round orange. It has to be split into wedges, biting it just feels wrong. (@FutureMrsTimmins: we do sugar on tomatos, salt on watermellon).

Growing up, I had a friend who’s dad would eat raw potatoes like apples. My grandma would eat raw corn off the cob. My mom likes raw tomatoes with salt and pepper. I like none of the above, but I LOVE raw mushrooms, which disgusts most people I know.
