Don’t give up!  For me, it takes about 3 weeks to start seeing some results.  AND – the fact that you know you are getting smaller IS results.  I know you want the extra ‘zing’ from the scale – but it’s really about inches!

Also – sounds like you have the eating and working out routine down – the other component I know makes a difference is sleep.  Are you getting enough?

It’s possible that you actually aren’t eating enough if you are working out a lot. If you don’t eat enough, it causes your metabolism to slow down.

This happens to me, too, every time I start trying to lose weight. So I started keeping track of inches. I measure my bust, the area right under my bust, my natural waist, my “belly” (between hips and belly button, where my jeans sit), my hips, and my thighs and arms. Usually checking those measurements once every couple of weeks helps me to see where I’m improving, even when the scale won’t move.

Keep up the exercises that you’re doing to build muscle, and maybe add more straight-up weight-lifting. The added muscle adds weight, yes, but it helps you burn calories and that will help you decrease any fat layers that are sitting on top of your muscles & hiding them.

I also did a bootcamp type thing a few years ago and I didn’t lose much weight – but I dropped several dress sizes and was way more toned. Muscle weighs more than fat. I would suggest taking measurments for a more accurate indication of yourr weight loss progress.

How many calories are you eating? How much water are you drinking? It sounds counter-intuitive but you need to eat more to weight less most of the time…especially working out like you do.

@PinkPandaBear:  It sounds like you ARE making progress 🙂 Have you tried on your clothes again to see if they’re any closer to fitting? Maybe that will encourage you to persevere?

I’m in the same boat.  But I KNOW the reason the scale isn’t budging is because I’m not sticking to my calories.  I just want it to melt off, without any effort!  Is that so much to ask! Haha.

Have you tried on the summer clothes again?  Try to find motivation in the results that you are seeing.  The last thing you want to happen is to get frustrated and give up.  So try to focus on the positives of your lifestyle change. 

Also, definitely make sure you are eating enough calories.  You don’t want to destroy your metabolism.

You’re gaining muscle.  The scale won’t budge.  You want to lose inches and it seems as if you are.  Good luck.  You’ll be fitting into your clothes in no time.

Are you eating back your exercise calories?  If you are working out pretty hard, you may only be netting like 800 calories, which could definitely kick your metabolism into starvation mode.

When are you weighing yourself?  It’s best to weigh in the morning after you have gone to the bathroom.  If you weigh at the end of the day, or right after eating, you will generally weigh more.  I love this video that illustrates this. 🙂
