Hello Fellow Destination Brides!
My Fiance and I have made the decision to do a cruise wedding so to speak. We are taking a 6 night Western Caribbean cruise on RCCL’s Independence of the Seas. The ports are Grand Cayman, Jamaica (Falmouth) and Labadee. I wanted to get married in Grand Cayman at first (1/27) because that was our actual anniversary date but decided against it because I didn’t want to risk a ton of money and not being able to get into the port because it is a tendor port. So we are going to get married in Montego Bay when we get to Falmouth. We are using Tropical Weddings Jamaica. So far she has been absolutely wonderful to deal with. I book weddings myself for Radisson back home so she’s put up with all my nit picky questions so far 🙂 Yes I book weddings for a living and I refuse to do a traditional wedding lol. The cruise is an awesome price though, $499 per person for the week 🙂
I was surprised how many awful reviews I found on RCCL’s Royal Romance department. I’m glad I saw them because I am getting so much more bang for my buck. I have a million questions and I’m not sure where to start so if anyone has any information I’m all ears.
- Has anyone had issues shipping things to another country (i.e. favors etc)?
- I’m sending out Save the Dates after the new year, how soon before should I be doing invitations because I need to know between 60-90 days to finalize my package?
- Tips on handling unruly people trashing your destination wedding idea (I only have a few of those suprisingly, especially since we offered to pay for them since we aren’t spending $20k on a real wedding and they are still complaining).
- Anyone have issues with wrinkly dresses when they arrived after flying?
If anyone has any other tips, I’m all ears!
Thanks everyone and best of luck!
