How many of you bees out there went back out into the work force after having your first child and if you did, was it a difficult transition? Did some of you never go back go back to the job you had before the baby came?
Also, what were the pros and cons of doing so? And how many of you have decided to be stay-at-home moms and have no plans to go back to work?
Some insight, please 🙂

I quit my job after getting pregnant! And barring any huge crisises, I’ll be staying out of the work force until our last one goes to Kindergarten!
I’m not worried about my career–I was a preschool teacher! So my career will only be furthered by having my own kids.

I’m going back to work on February 4th. I’m dreading it! I already have such mom guilt about it, I just feel like my baby (who will be 12 weeks) still needs me SO much. It will be nice to get out of the house, but I know I will miss her like crazy. I wish I could be a SAHM.

@Vitana: I think the answers will be all over the map depending on the type of work, the length of mat leave and the support available.
I went back to my position as an ER nurse but it was after a one year paid combination of maternity and parenting leave. I also hired a live-in sitter when I went back to work until my youngest was old enough to go to daycare.
