I wanted to have the inside of my mens wedding band re-polished and re-engraved.
If I do this, would it affect the size of the ring?
The ring is 14K white gold.
I would imagine it wouldn;t but wanted to make sure.

Highly doubt it but ask the jeweler that will be doing the work

It will not affect the size at all. They will just laser inscribe it and rhodium dip it.

It depends on how much work needs to be done to the inside of your ring. If it’s just a quick buff to shine it up for your wedding day, I don’t think it will affect the size much if at all. If your ring is very worn and might need to be rounded out again (I see it a lot in the jewelry store I work part time in) it might affect the size more but would probably make it more comfortable to wear. If it’s somewhere in between, without seeing your ring it’s difficult to judge, but I would think that it might affect the size a little bit but if it does it should hardly be noticeable. Before you make any decisions on what to do to it, I would recommend consulting with an experienced and registered jeweler to get a better idea. 😄 I hope that helps!

lgbalfa : Do you mean you want the outside re-engraved and polished or the inside? If the outside, it will have no affect on the size. If the inside, then I agree with wildflowergypsy.
