- Wedding: September 2014
i’m thinking on logistics of our ceremony, and designing our program.. and yes, i know i’m over a year and a half away from the wedding.
i have three questions about :
1) do we have to have “ushers”? i figured that my Future Father-In-Law could walk down the aisle with my Future Mother-In-Law and maybe my mom. and other than that, i don’t see the need for ushers.. and if we do have them, do they have to be male? Fiance doesn’t have many friends who he’d want to be involved, and he’s an only child. my only brother is a groomsman already. so.. i don’t know.
2) i’m planning one reading. can our “reader” be the officiant? like, it’s not a religious ceremony (at least, i’m not planning on it being super religious, it’s not a church ceremony), and our officiant is one of FI’s best friends. would it be weird to have her do the reading? or do we need someone else designated to do the reading?
3) if we have two people at the entrance to the ceremony location to hand out programs, what would they be called? greeters? or would they double as ushers, even though they aren’t “ushering” anyone to their seats really…
