Any ladies go dress shopping in Cincinnati in Reading Bridal District?
Lace Bridal
Yours Truly, Kelly
Splendid
Something New, Borrowed, Blue
Any reviews? Best deals? Friendliest?
Dress shopping next weekend, Oct 11th. Trying to debate if its worth going to Cincinnati for. From Indianapolis, Fiance is from Cincy, and thought it might be worth checking out.
Thanks in advance! <3

nicholeskelton: Hey, I went to all of the places you listed (except Splendid). Something New, Borrowed, and Blue and Yours Truly, Kelly — from what I remember — sell samples, so you kind of have to be lucky. I think the lady that owns Lace Bridal also owns Yours Truly, Kelly and she was very, very nice. I actually ended up purchasing my dress from Bridal and Formal. They have a huge selection, which I liked. However, since the store does have a ton of dresses, they tend to get pretty packed. I went on a week day and had good luck, but I can imagine that weekends are pretty hectic. Good luck!

I went to Bridal and Formal, Carrie Karibo, Splendid and Wendy’s.
Wendy’s – nice, easy going staff, very reasonably priced dresses
Splendid Bridal – young kind of air-head consultant but they were fine
Carrie Karibo – wonderful, sweet and kind consultant. Very boutiquey and fun shop. I really liked them, they just didn’t have the styles I liked.
I got my dress from Bridal and Formal. They have a huge selection. And I wanted a non-blingy, full skirted dress with non-shiny fabric and straps. Definitely a bit of a challenge in the current bridal market. All my top contenders came from this store. But that big selction means that you should have a pretty good idea of what you want, otherwise you can spend forever there. I went three times because I was indecisive. Also, this didn’t bug me, but they have shared changing rooms (women only). I didn’t mind because I’m not really modest, but I was glad I wasn’t wearing a thong or undies with holes in them! The biggest drawback is that they wouldn’t let me take pictures of me trying on the dresses, which I thought was completely bullshit. But then, when I brought in my family for my final decisions, they let me take pictures of everything!!! If you’re coming with a group request the front room with the video and they’ll probably let your family members take pictures.

I got my dress at Lace Bridal and just had one of my last fittings today 🙂 They are very nice and the owner also owns Yours Truly, Kelly. Lace has a fairly small selection and is boutiquey. Also pricier. I loved at Lace there wasn’t anyone else in there when I first tried dresses on (weekday). From what I understand Yours Truly is cheaper.
Something New Borrowed and Blue was ok but I wasn’t fond of any of their dresses available in my size. It was a budget bridal store and it looks and feels like a budget bridal store.
I went and browsed Bridal and Formal’s dresses without an appointment and without trying anything on. I found it to be kinda unpleasant and filled with annoying herds of brides and bridesmaids. They have a huge selection but it makes it kinda overwheming.
Wendy’s was decent, has decent prices and some sales, and they had a number of very good dresses. The consultant was ok.
