@angela85:  I second the Corinthians “Love is patient, love is kind etc.” We’re having a non-religious ceremony, but if we have to do a Bible reading, it’ll probably be that one.

Failing that, maybe try some quotes from The Good Book, by A.C. Grayling? It’s often referred to as a humanist bible, so it’s got loads of quotes related to love and kindness, etc. but written in a fashion similar to the holy bible (unless your audience knows the bible by heart, chances are they won’t know the difference!).

@DarceyD:  I think you would just read whatever parts you were comfortable with. It’s your wedding, so I doubt anyone is really going to complain!

@DarceyD:  Of course there is no rule about it. Just read the parts that you like and of course as much as FI’s niece is comfortable with.
