Ok people I need a little help with our readings. My fiance has decided that we should have 5 different readings about love.
1. The love of eachother
2. The love of God
3. The love of children
4. The love of family
5. The love of friends
I love the idea but am having problems coming up with ideas for reading under these broad categories. Any ideas?????

Are you looking for scripture, or any readings? I have a suggestion I wanted to use in my wedding, but it just didn’t fit in. I like the passage from 1 John 4. Take a look over the whole thing, especially chaps. 3-4, if you want to choose the best verse, but here’s a suggestion, it’s 4:16 -18:
"And we have known and believed that the love God hath to us, God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear is love, but perfect love casteth off fear."
I think we didn’t go with it because I like the sentiment but couldn’t quite get the wording in a way I liked.

You’re going to have 5 different people read 5 different readings or are some people going to do more than one? How long are you planning your ceremony for?
I have a couple of books just about readings for weddings. Check Amazon or your local bookstore.

One of our readings was from 1 corinthians (I think ch. 13) – "Love is patient, love is kind…"
It’s one of those passages I remember my father quoting when I was young, and a favorite of mine. Hope this helps

Becuase you are thinking of 5 readings, I would opt to find something brief or a snippet of verses, 5 readings could really add up in time! Are you looking for scripture or something from a literature realm?
