Not necessarily.  What about the guys who use one of those store policy’s of using a stock ring to be returned later?

Gonna have to disagree… love my man, but he’s not the best at picking out jewelry!

Disagree, the question is “Will you marry me” not “Will you marry me if you like this ring”. I’m not going to say no just because he went with yellow gold.

To each is own is my favorite saying. Personally, the ring itself did not matter to me. Yes, I wanted a flawless and colorless diamond. But other than that it didn’t matter to me at all, I just wanted him to choose the ring out of love, something he looked at and thought me. But then again, I love my ring and I loved it as soon as I saw it so I guess I’m not the best person to comment on this lol.

i think for some when the question is asked all coherent thought flies out the window and its not until a little while later when they catch their breathe and look at the ring and go hmmmmmmm – not loving this so much

either way to each their own

I definitely disagree. First of all, saying yes to marriage means that you are committing your life to someone not saying I like that ring. Secondly, when you get proposed to there is such excitement that you say yes before you even look at the ring.

That’s straight up SILLY.

You say yes to the MAN, not the RING. If you hate the ring, you say yes I will marry you because I love you- but let’s exchange the ring.

Can you imagine saying no and humiliating the man who is madly in love with you and is asking you to spend the rest of your life with because the ring is not up to your standards? wow!
