Hi bees, I am getting married in June and need to start getting a lot more organised, has anyone used real flowers for their bridal bouquet and fake for the bridesmaids? I am trying to keep costs to a minimum and from most of the pics I have seen, nobody really takes any notice of the bridesmaids flowers anyway. They will be a completely different flower aswell. Can I do this or would it stand out and look tacky?

As long as you get the flowers that look real and arn’t obviously plastic looking no one is going to tell. If you were trying to match colours or something i would say stick to all the same, but if they are going to be two different flowers and different colours you should be totally fine.

@RenH83: I am doing entirely fake flowers for my bridesmaids and a mix for mine. My reason is I love black and white anemones, but they aren’t in season in the summer. So I have my BMs entirely fake anemone bouquets (like my profile picture) and my bouquet will have some fake anemones mixed in with the real ones

As a bridesmaid for my sister, my bouquet was mixed fake and real: an artificial purple/blue hydrangea surrounded by real flowers and greens. It looked great.

@RenH83: I don’t think fake flowers are tacky…as long as they don’t look fake. I have seen really nice bouquets and floral arrangements made out of fake flowers but they look like real flowers.
I’m thinking of doing this for my bridesmaids.
