As a curvy woman, I struggled finding pictures of other curvy women in some of the Vera Wang for David’s Bridal dresses while I was searching for my dress (I bought the v neck ball gown for my December 2012 wedding!) I am a size 12 and 5’9″. Here are a couple pictures of me in three of their dresses!
V Neck Ball Gown with Fully Draped Skirt Style VW351029 with a light silver sash
With no sash
The dramatic train, LOVE!
One Shoulder Structured Fit and Flare Gown Style VW351010. Loved this dress! Felt very couture. This was a major contender to the v-neck for me, but I wanted something more “bridal” Amazing with or without a sash!
and the back…
Organza Fit and Flare Gown with Bias Flange Skirt Style VW351011. Loved this dress as well!!! I didn’t feel like strapless was the best look for me, but adore this dress! I actually purchased the vneck, and am trying to figure out an alterations specialist that can make the top of the skirt look more like this…and I apologize, I don’t have a picture of the train!

All the dresses look good on you. Good luck with the alterations!

You look amazing! Are you wearing the sash with your dress?

@miss narwhal: I am wearing a different sash with the dress, something I had made from Etsy. I was playing with the silver or darker grey, went with the darker grey that matches my bridesmaid dresses. Also have a matching hair comb, they are to DIE for! Below is a pic of the sash when she was making it, and me in the dress WITH the sash 🙂

They all look fabulous on you!

Lovely!! You look great.
So here’s my question on the hair comb – are you wearing it at the same time as the veil? Just for the reception?
I LOVE hair combs, especially in dark hair. But I can’t figure out how to wear it with the veil.
I’m now thinking about a headband like these, as I like that you can see some bling from either side.

@NAvery: I wore my hair in a low style, not centered but off to the left side (if that makies sense) and then the hair comb, instead of near my ear, on the other side of the hair style. It didn’t mess with the look of the veil at all either. I only wore the veil for the ceremony, during which you could see hints of the comb. Very pretty. I attached a couple pictures so you can see how it looks!
So the first picture, you can see from the left side, the hair is more off to that ear, comb on the other side. Next picture you can see from the right side, with the veil, and last picture is from the right side as well!
I do like headbands, but I also think there is something more special about a sparkly comb peeking out from the back, instead of BAM, here is my headband. I personally feel like having too much going on in the way of jewelry or a headpiece will take away from your face, your dress, etc. I only wore the hair comb, stud earrings, and my engagement ring, and then had a pretty sparkly sash.
Hope this helps and congrats!

@MsAmandaAnn: Thank you so much, and my pleasure! Like I said before, I really struggled with what someone larger than a size 6 looked like in the dresses. It is always nice to have a reference point for seeing the dress on someone else your same size, same type of figure, or same height. Hope this helped!! I think some women are afraid to post pictures of themselves if they are larger because they are ashamed or afraid of what people might say. I would love to be in better shape, but I embrace the curves, even if I have days where I hate them and hope other women so also! I did lose some weight before the wedding, but was still a small 12, large 10. Hope you found a gorgeous dress!

@jrzvol: Thank you thank you! I did the Vera wang white veil in Ivory, the two tiered fingertip length. It was PERFECT!
