I’m contemplating buy the Lucca Maxi from BHLDN as a “dancing” reception dress. I wasn’t really thinking COMFORT when I bought a stiff satin/lace fit and flare (allure 9117) as my main dress. There are a ton of expensive dresses I adore, but Im really trying to not blow the budget anymore than it is lol.
This is the dress !!
I haven’t tried it on, but they do have returns. Reviews are for the most part other than the mesh being annoying. Have any brides bought this as a wedding dress? I would love to see!!
If not, what do you brides think? ptionids/0848592b-d439-4e88-b197-5a7086f4ba0f

I didn’t know this came in ivory!!!
I am probably going to buy it for my trash the dress shoot, but I do agree that the mesh is annoying. I’ve tried it on several times and it felt like it cut into the shoulders and itched a little.
I really love it in ivory and now that I know they have that, I want it even more haha.
But Watter’s (who the dress is by) has a similar dress that has less mesh in their new collection and I want to try it on first before getting the Lucca. Ignore the pic, I cropped it from instagram haha.
And I also love this one, which I think might be a little better for my boobs than Lucca, but I want to try it on first. I’m hoping when my wedding gown comes in, I can try these one because they didn’t have them when I first bought my dress.

First off wow you look stunning!!! Great choice!
Secondly, where can you by Watters dresses online? I am approaching my wedding in September so no time to order for standard waits!! I am however going to my bridal salon to try on Esme (Maggie sottero) later today to buy off the rack. I’m thinking this would be great for reception cut at floor length to dance the night away in :D:D Hopefully it works out and isn’t dirty or ripped lol.

Wore the Lucca Maxi dress to my wedding, and it was perfect! I live in Colorado but eloped on 10/05/15 in Washington. The dress rolled up and traveled well in my suitcase (it was the only thing in my carry-on!), and had a few days to hang and “air out” prior to the wedding.
The dress was light and comfortable. There were two layers of tulle and two “underlayers” beneath the tulle (the “underlayers” felt cheap, but I felt that’s why the price was so fantastic); the tulle was soft and flowy. I would recommend getting a slip if you do want to wear a garter; I could see mine through the dress and removed it just before the wedding due to this! I loved the mesh illusion neckline, but I also had a little bit of redness on the left strap by the end of the day like other people I’ve seen review this dress have said. I felt this wasn’t that big of a deal though, and was acceptable given my love for this dress (plus it wasn’t really that itchy on that spot).
Also, I ordered the size 16 and am just over 5’11”. I wore flat shoes and the dress landed a little above the floor – which was fine for me given the setting. I felt the sizing was a little small, as I originally ordered a 14 based off of my measurements, but had to exchange for a 16.
All in all, I loved this dress and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful dress (and on a budget). It was beautiful and I haven’t stopped receiving compliments.
(I submitted a review to BHLDN too which is very similar to this one! Just a head’s up 😉 )
