I am waiting for someone to post pictures of the Cleo too!

I actually purchased the Cleo, but didn’t take any pictures of myself in it, because I tend to second guess everything.  But I know I loved it on.

I’m taking out a layer of tulle to make the bottom a little more fitted, and I think I’m going to change the neckline to sweetheart  🙂

Good luck with your decision!  If you do go with the Cleo, it’s a beautiful dress, but I guess I’m biased 🙂

@ladyaybara: I am almost to the point of making myself sick trying to decide between Cleo and Hadley. I have previously only been to David’s Bridal, and then decided to try a different place to get a feel for other designers. And so I met Maggie Sottero. Cleo was the last dress I tried on and I did not want to take it off. I felt it was sexy, yet still elegant. And oh Dramatic! That’s what I’m looking for! The place we’re getting married at is elegant, but still edgy with exposed brick and whatnot. So, I thought it was settled until I decided to try on more Maggie gowns. And then I met Hadley. And now I cannot choose. I almost think Hadley is plain, but it has the layer of shimmer, and just looks like a princess. So, I’m waiting for people to post pics in Cleo as well!!!

@Lynz407:I literally am making myself trying to decide. Does it have enough going on, do I want all the satin, will it make a statement, I just don’t know!!!

Yeah, it’s a tough decision!  You should take some time and think about it though… maybe go back and re-try the ones you like on?  The Cleo is actually the second dress I purchased.  I bought too quickly and had major dress regret.  So my best advice is to take your time.

Either way, I’m sure you will look amazing in whatever you choose.  And if it’s the Cleo, it’s gorgeous on you!  Good luck!

@Lynz407:Awe thanks! I retried on the Cleo yesterday and still loved it. But, i’m so weird. I feel like I should keep trying on dresses to see what’s out there. I’m up to 35 dresses as of now. What was your first dress like that you purchased and how did you know it wasn’t the one?

@Mrs.Elivs:  Well have you tried on all of the different styles?  (Mermaid, Fit and Flare, A-line, etc)?  Because if you’ve been able to narrow it down to the fit you like and you just keep trying on different variations of that style, you may want to just go with your instinct.  I’m  clearly no expert, but I hear that you’re supposed to stop looking once you find the one you love.

My initial dress was the Maggie Carrie.  I went to a store with the intention of just trying a few dresses on, and it just so happened that they were having a one-day sale, so I felt a lot of pressure to purchase that day.  I kind of liked it, so I went with it.  Afterwards, I kept looking at pictures of other brides online, and I just felt like it wasn’t my style… I hate the pickups and it’s not as modern as I wanted. Not to mention, I had only tried on like 4 dresses.  I was also having nightmares about it so I knew it was the wrong choice!

I know the Cleo is my dress because I remember feeling really sexy but classy in it.  You’re the first real bride I was able to see  pics of in it.  It’s funny because I hate how the model looks in it on the website.  It doesn’t fit her body as well as it fits yours.  So I’m glad you posted that picture!   Makes me confident with my choice.

@Lynz407:Yay!!!! Sorry I had to chop my face. My future SIL is SUPER nosey, like it’s annoying, and I’m not involving her or my future Mother-In-Law in the dress process. Let’s just say fashion sense doesn’t hit everyone. So, I’m not showing them anything, and knowing her, she’s probably looking on the internet trying to find a pic of me in something. Maybe I’m paranoid, but better safe than sorry. I’ve tried on all the styles and I love trumpet, fit and flare, and I do like the a-line. I think fit and flares are my most favorite. Hence, I’ve narrowed it down to Cleo and the White by Vera Wang fit and flare. I’ve tried on the Vera dress about 4 times. And each time, there’s something that I would change. And I wonder if it looks bridal enough. It’s like I have these dreams of being sooo dramatic and giving people a wow wasn’t expecting that! And I feel the Vera dresses can really do that. But, like you when I put on Cleo- WOW. I felt sexy, slim, and like it was just soo much more elegant. And then I imagined myself with accessories. Are you wearing a veil or birdcage? I wish I could see Cleo in white or diamond white and not the alabaster. What color did you order?

@Mrs.Elivs: I’m wearing a very sheer, fingertip length veil.  I think a birdcage would be really pretty and would definitely add drama to the look.  You could even do a dramatic flower pin with the birdcage veil which would look great.  You should look around on Etsy.com for accessories (not sure if you’ve done that already).

I’m considering wearing a sash with crystals/beading (rather than the flower sash) for the ceremony just to add some bling, and then putting on the flower sash for the reception.  Not sure though.

For color, I went with Alabaster, but that was what was recommended to me by the salon… I’m blonde with pretty fair skin so the white supposedly washed me out.

@Lynz407:That sounds really pretty! I was kinda liking the alabaster and strutting around feeling glam! After a mini breakdown b/c my best friend said she hated Cleo, and my mom and Fiance talking me off the ledge, I ordered Cleo and couldn’t be happier! We’re dress twins now!!! I can’t wait to shop for accessories. I know I want a flower clip of some sort, but don’t know if I want a veil or birdcage. When else will I get to wear a veil in my lifetime is what I’m thinking! When will your dress be in?

I am so happy to have found Cleo too!

I also originally wanted the same Vera gown as you, then I realized did I really love this gown? Or did I love it because it was a Vera. I even made a deposit at Davids, but later cancelled it. I was skimming through dresses one night on my iphone in bed when I decieded to check out Maggie dresses. For some reason this dress stood out! Now I had already tried on 100 dresses ( seriously!) for my Fall Wedding! I had to go to Coral Gables Miami to find this gown. For the first time I went into the boutique without an appt., put the gown on and I knew! Made a deposit and now I have to wait untill August when the gown comes in (i ordered in April).I choose alabaster for my fair skin and red hair. The most beautiful gown for a 5’6 size 8 body! I didnt try it on with a pettiecoat however. What about veil or headpiece? Im also doing a pleated satin purple peeptoe:)
