So I had my second fitting today. Loads more pinning done as it still needs to be taken in more around the bust and bum, but I’m really happy with how it’s coming along! Flash with and without my veil:

ali0118:  thank you! Argh, how exciting! I guess you won’t do your fittings until a bit nearer 2017 but will you still be going in to try it on when it arrives anyway? You should!

lovelylady-79:  beautiful pics!! I got the Lorie too. My wedding isn’t until next May. I’m looking forward to the alterations. I want to alter the dress to be slim through the butt and hips. Did you do any alterations? I’m worried about sitting in the dress with it being snug. Any thoughts or advice based on your experience?

jennifer.ridgway.9:  Hi the only alterations I had was having the length taken up and the bodice taken in , i thought about having it taken in more around my thighs but it just didnt look right once we pinned it (made me look to wide on the hips ) . Tips- make sure you get it fitted snug around the bodice /bust area , i found the top to be a really weird shape inside the bust area which made me a little worried everyone could see down my dress as it didnt sit as flush to my body as i would have liked but it was fine in the end – i had bust cups sewn in to help the dress sit more flush to me but it still felt like it gaped a little (no matter how tight we did the corset up ), hope that helps you ๐Ÿ™‚ .x

Hi lovely bees,

So we’ve now been married a little over two weeks and we had the most wonderful day. I really loved wearing my Lorie and received so many lovely comments both on the day and since.

I wasn’t going to post any photos but then thought that that’s kind of the point of this thread, so see below. I’ve included a few shots so you can see it from different angles and I’ve covered the faces of my husband and family as I haven’t asked their permission to post these!

My Lorie is in and I have decided I’m too self conscious about my arms to go sleeveless, but I found this beautiful lace bolero that matches the lace perfectly!

Now I’m concerned about the bolero staying put and not flipping up.  We’re taking dance lessons and doing a choreographed first dance with lots of fancy turns and dips and I’m worried about the bolero coming up if I lift my arms up.  My first fitting is this week so hopefully my seamstress has a solution.  Both my dress and the bolero are large on me and need to be taken in quite a bit.

I ordered a chapel length veil on etsy that has lace only on the bottom edge where the train ends.

I’m also looking for a blingy sash and possibly a petticoat to give it more shape on the bottom.

What do you all think?

I am so thankful for finding this thread! To whoever started this, you have been my lifesaver. I  went shopping for my dress at the end of May and thought I had found it at the first store I visited. I then proceeded to go to the next appointment that I had and thought I was just going to play dress up. Little did I know i would find this gown there and realize that THIS gown, was the one I wanted to walk down the isle in. After making the decision, I started to have some regrets. I looked back at the pictures and wasn’t sure. After speaking with a friend of mine who use to be a bridal consultant, she reasured me I made the right decision and explained how the items I wasn’t sure about can all be done in alterations. I cannot wait to see the dress after the couple of items I want changed are done. Looking at how everyone took their Lorie dress and made it their own has inspired me. Thank you all for sharing your stories, and I look forward to sharing my story with all of you! ๐Ÿ™‚
