Hi bees, I thought i’d share how i plan to save literally hundreds on my Loubies!!
Did a bit of research, wen to the flagship store, have chose the stye I wanted. The entry price to a pair of shoes is with the ‘Classic Pumps’ In Aus they are $695 (AUS$).
I had a look on US sites & they appear to be over $700 (US$).
Then I enquired in the UK & guess what – 375quid! ($550AUD). But it gets better – if you are a non resident purchasing in the country, you can claim the VAT (tax) on your departure at the airport – that’s 20%!! They would come down to 300quid = $450AUD – now that’s a saving of $250!!
Lucky for me i have some friends visiting the UK who are happy to bring them back for me!
Here they are…for shoe porn purposes..

That’s awesome – thanks for sharing!
Way too many hoops for me to jump through on a regular basis but I will keep this in mind when I visit London this year.

This VAT return business applies to ALL purchases! Think Tiffany’s …. & all the rest…
When purchasing mention your intention & they will give you a form of some sort to take to the airport.

Love it!! I don’t own a pair, but the way how I got my first LV bag was using gift cards saved up from credit card reward points. I use citibank and they have a pretty good credit card system. I usually shop groceries, gas and other random purchases here and there.
After a year, I was able to accumulate $400 worth of giftcards. You can choose from Macy’s, Saks etc. I ended up choosing all in Saks (which has Loubies) and the LV store in Saks accepts Saks GCs, and I’m sure other stores in Saks accept them too.

Just wanted to add about claiming the VAT back. I used to work for Le Creuset (in the UK) and we had a lot of people buying stuff and taking it home (overseas) and wanted to claim the tax back. We didn’t actually carry the forms for you to fill in but I believe you can pick them up at the post office if you need one!
