Ok Magick Bees.
Tell me your thoughts on the tale that is Engagement Chicken.
Secular people often scoff at the though of a “Magic Chicken” that helps you get engaged but …. if you wanted to…coulldn’t it really be Magick Chicken???
Use your magick herbs. Say a little love incatation befor you pop it in.
Birds are sacred animals associated with love and monogomus relationships. Hera’s animals are a Cuckoo and a Calf…

I’ve heard the engagement chicken really works, though I’d never heard of the Pagan aspect of it. I guess that makes sense, though!

couldn’t really follow your post, but basically I don’t think there’s any food you can prepare to make someone propose, or do anything you want them to.

Whatever, it’s a fun idea and I don’t think anyone should be ridiculed for trying it out as in the other thread.
(I am not superstitious at all and don’t believe in things like this, but each to their own.)

I’m surprised some of you have never heard of it, especially because it’s been posted about before. Here’s the Wikipedia article on it.

I’m a Pagan that doesn’t like to do anything that will work with someone’s will. I often steer away from spells that will “make” anyone do anything.
I would be more likely to burn a red candle or something while praying in the morning. Bring love into the relationship and keep the negative away.

@sealevels: nonono. No curbing of anyone’s will. I don’t “influence” Rule of 3 stuff. I don’t even say words, most of the time. I just let myself think while cooking. Think and project my thoughts into the universe while I am puttering around the kitchen.
Eh. I am a whimsical witch and I love old wives tales and ‘Stupid-stitions’. I just enjoy having fun.
What I love about the idea of engagement chicken is that you are BELIEVING in that sucker before you put it in the oven.
It isn’t that far fetched…cooking with love. it is just focusing on what you are doing while you are doing. Oh this basil is sacred to Hestia and was has been known to soothe tempers between lovers. I will add this to my chicken. This garlic is scared to Hecate..and it taste delicious…
Am I alone here..?
Am I the only one who believes in folly.

@Sapphire-Dreamer: I’m a pretty weird Wiccan. I walk in the Lord and Lady’s light and I am more about embodying (sp?) spirit. I was never into little diddies or spells or anything like that. So it’s not that I’m judging “cooking with love”, I just don’t believe cooking a chicken and serving it to your boyfriend will speed along the engagement process.
I’m VERY superstitous and very much in tune with the deeper aspects of life. I just happen to think that engagement chicken is a little far fetched. No judgment…I just wouldn’t personally try it. *shrug* Whatever floats your boat!

@sealevels: It’s not about influencing someone else’s actions. A non-Pagan came up with the recipe, and
@Sapphire-Dreamer is just adding a little Pagan influence to it.
