I like this post and will look forward to seeing the responses to get some inspiration. I’m in the process of looking for an outfit for my Mum and we are also a bit fed up of the super skinny, young looking unrealistic models which are used in marketing. They do look great but it makes it hard to find something suitable.

This is the dress we found my mom, I saw it at davids bridal when I was buying my shoes and I told her to go try it on. It looks like skirt/top/jacket but it’s really just dress/jacket.

Check David’s Bridal, they have a lot of nice MOB dresses.

chuckandsuziesmom:  My mom is a petite moderately plus size, 55 and was having a really hard time finding something that didn’t make her look frumpy and way older. She’s decided to wear a DB bridemaid dress! Style F15721.<br />She had to get a few alterations to the sleeves I’ll ask her to take a photo when she picks it up on Friday 🙂

Im a MOB and my dress is a Jasmine, its actually a bridesmaid dress with a few tweeks being made to make it more elegant and a touch of bling and gathering.

My Mom wore a dress from Nordstrom. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are a great option– free shipping and returns, so you don’t have to worry about trying things on.

My mom had a skirt made (Carolina Herrera fabric ordered from Mood), and wore it with a crisp, white button down for our backyard wedding. She looked FLY, if I do say so myself!

turtle9748:  Ooh!  I love that! That is the best MOB dress/outfit I’ve seen on the bee, by far!

My mom will be wearing a navy blue dress from Dillards that is really simmilar in shape to the one

amanda.417:  Thank you!! She was just stunning! She was 62 when we got married last summer, and really wanted something light and airy for our July OUTSIDE wedding. This is fun and beautiful but totally appropriate for 62. Plus can wear it again! My best friend’s husband said “I don’t generally comment on a women’s attire, but your mom KILLED IT.” Proud she’s my mama!!!
