@canarydiamond:  +1

It looks like it might be a CZ to me. It is a beautiful ring. Make sure to take it to a jewler and let us know!

@Mamalk85:  That was so sweet and generous of her to give you the ring! I’m going to guess that it is a diamond.

Commenting to follow! I can’t wait to hear whether it is real or fake! 🙂

My vote is for real. Maybe not the highest quality diamond, but I do think it’s diamond.

Commenting to follow! How awesome would it be if it were a diamond?! Either way, so sweet of her to give that to you! It obviously means a lot to her.

Oh, and OP, sorry about all of the smart ass responses… it was an honest mistake, and they all know that, but some bees just cannot pass up an opportunity to toss a little sarcasm in there.

The centre stone looks exactly like my white sapphire centre stone after it’s been worn and needs a cleaning.  The icy shine that it has along with the blue sparkle (no colors like green, yellow, orange when it sparkles) also makes me think white sapphire.  It’s a beautiful ring! Let us know what it is if/when you do end up getting it looked at

@Mamalk85: I think it’s probably not a diamond – but whether it is or not, its beautiful and a great way to remember your friend when she passes. It obviously mean something to her and I would be honored to wear it. There’s no reason to apologize… We all knew what you meant in your post. 🙂

@This Time RoundI know your first post was not meant to be harsh to the OP, but it did come across that way. So many times it can be hard to tell how a person will interpret your wording or inflection. Either way, there is no reason to reply to someone else’s comment with an insult, even if theirs was snarky or mean. I understand your first post was probably just meant to be helpful, so perhaps next time In My Humble Opinion you will think of explaining your first comment more fully if there is a misunderstanding instead of answering snarkiness with a similar comment.

To everyone else, we all know the OP wasn’t trying to be rude, and she has apologized for her misunderstanding, so In My Humble Opinion I think the “Its a real ring” comments are kind of beating a dead horse.

Thank you.

@This Time Round:  Just because you’re older than most of the people on here doesn’t make you superior to the rest of us, which is how some of your posts come off, and confirmed by your response to Ellicott.
