@subtlebee:  I realize I may come off as harsh and judgemental, that is not my intent. I have had loss myself, I lost my father unexpectedly last February (I buried him the weekend before I had to leave for my honeymoon-the word difficult doesn’t come close to describing what my family went through). It is taking me a long time to get over it, but please consider some kind of support group or grief counseling-an entire month devoted every year to greif, not allowing anything good to happen, that is a lot to go through every year.

@subtlebee:  Way, way more rare.  Diamonds are really, really, really common.  Even gemstone quality ones.

@subtlebee:  Got it, I edited my post. Your original post came off as a little temper-tantrum, from your other posts, I see that wasn’t the intent. Please don’t take offense to my posts.

As a July baby, I love rubies, they are just gorgeos! You may be onto something that going to a more metropolitan area with a diamond/gemstone district may be necessary. In the mean time, can he propose with a “stand in”?

Good luck!

@subtlebee:  You should really consider calming down.  You are demanding a proposal, and looking back through your posts it seems you have been on a February at the latest timeline since he turned you down.

What makes a proposal special is that it is done freely and organically, not demanded on a specific timeline.

Don’t you want the proposal to be as real as the stone?

@subtlebee:  Since you wanted more: I have an heirloom set of rings from my grandmother – one of the rings is rubies and diamonds.  I had these unsoldered so I can wear the engagement ring alone, but I do love wearing the ruby ring once in a while too.  They’re a really nice rich color.

@subtlebee:  Uhhhhhhhh…..you just got done saying that YOU can’t give him time because YOU are impatient.  That does not sound like he has a choice in the matter even if he does want to delay it a bit.

@subtlebee:  Got it. He still has 3-1/2 weeks, and two women helping him. Can he start calling the closest “big” city jewelry stores to determine if a trip is necessary?
