Okay Bees, I need your help!!
My wedding is this upcoming June, far enough away but I am really freaking out about the flowers!
My colors are bright teal and white with accents of coral/light orange.
At first, I though to do tall centerpieces with a pomander of white carnations and oranage sahara roses surrounding the bottom. The bridesmiads would have white carnations and I would just have my bouquet all sahara roses. My caterter is doing all of our food and decorations, as well as the cake and flowers. My fiance and I met up with him to discuss this. We are having a 300 person wedding and that equals about 38 tables. He said to do those centerpieces, they would run from $50 to $100 EACH depending on how big I want them and how much the flowers cost next summer. I kind of crapped my pants.
So my other alternative would be to do fake, which as of now I have no trouble with. He has these amazing silk flowers in tropical colors as well as flowers. I saw the picture of the last wedding he did with said silk flowers and they looked AMAZING!
So now I’m totally stuck on what to do. I really liked the carnation and roses idea, but I really like the tropical flower idea, too!!
Here is a pic of my wedding gown and bridesmaid dress. Could I get some opinions on what would look the best!?

I think the topical flowers would mesh well with your color scheme which already has some tropical elements in it. Go for the faux flowers and save money, IMO. $100 a centerpiece for something that will die tomorrow… no way.

Go faux and def save the money! You can still get all the right vibes and be in good standing!
Love your dress btw!!

Great! Thanks! The silk centerpieces would only be $14 each so that’s A LOT better than $50-$100. I think I will still do real flowers for the bouquet though.
And thank you Mrs.Argentina ! I actually just decided on the dress today!!

Did you also consider what non-floral elements you could use as a centerpiece? Nowadays you can find a lot of amazing centerpieces with lanterns, candles, vases, etc that don’t use a lot of fresh flowers so you can still have them for the tables too.

Yea, I actually looked into big, white lanterns but the absolute cheapest ones I could find were $12, but then I’d also want some sort of flower somewhere to brighten it up. Or at least votives and our reception is in the lobby of an art museum and we are not allowed to have open flames so we could only do the battery operated kind and those get pricey. Especially if I want about 6 for each table. My caterer has 24 inch tall vases that we are using. So I figured that would be the least expensive. But I would definitely welcome any other options, of course! Thank you!
