Husband and i were delaying ttc for a few months but ive just looked at my charts (so when we do want to conceive ill have info handy) and im late. I only chart period dates and not temperatures yet
Last week we were away with friends, and drank a LOT of beer every night. And now i scared im pregnant a d the baby would have fetal alcohol syndrome
im about 4 days late which is unusual for me. I know i need to buy a test, im waiting for y husband to come home

You don’t share blood supply with baby yet if you are pregnant, seriously don’t worry at all.

@MrsSawyer: +1. Try not to stress out, many many women drink prior to knowing they are pregnant.

@newname_99: If you drank heavily over the few days, that could be the reason itself why you are late.
I never thought that alcohol consumption could have an impact on my period but just realised this month that it does. As well as amount of water your body actually is getting and how hydrated you are.
Stop stressing and put your mind at ease by doing a home pregnancy test.

@MrsSawyer: Agreed! Besides OP – think how many babies are conceived because mom and dad had a bit too much to drink and weren’t as careful as they should have been?

Its not that a baby would be a bad thing, but the plan was a major lifestyle change first and to sort out a few insurance issues. f i am im not touching alcohol again of course
@MrsSawyer: i had heard that, but then this fetal alcohol syndrome page told me that an embryo could have neurological problems even from drinking this early.literally from the second it implants and i freaked out
2 hours till i can do the test!! Dh said previously hed prefer to be surprised with a definite positive rather than do it with me so havent mentioned it
@Lulume: i hope thats it, so i can start a baby from the best health perspective possible.

OP do you have an update? The PP’s are right, you aren’t sharing a blood supply at this point. You have nothing to worry about.

yeah I wouldn’t worry. My mom had 5 kids, you cam’t tell me there wasn’t alot of drinking. if you test postitive just don’t drink anymore. My mom also smoked thru her preg, and ice skated until her dr. told her to knock the shit off.
It was one weekend don’t worry (((HUGS)))
