We paced ourselves for the day but had started to drink later on in the evening so we had a bit of a buzz.  I walked in the door, literally collapsed face-first onto the bed and proclaimed “LET ME OUT!” while poor Darling Husband tried to figure out how to undo the corset while I kept whining for him to hurry (playfully)…  Once he finally got it off, we sat in our undies and recounted the day over a bottle of bubbly!

WannaBee2BridalBee:  HA! We had ZERO intentions of having sex on our wedding night. We knew we’d be exhausted, even with a lunch reception. We came back to the rental house, some people came over and we talked, looked at pictures my photographer was already sending, and at pizza. Then my sister, her boyfriend, and my dad mentioned that they somehow managed to not get a hotel room for that night!!!! So they all stayed at the rental with us (it was three bedrooms so the bridesmaids could stay with me the night before). Super romantic right? LOL We all went to brunch with a bunch of people the next day then dad, sister & the boyfriend watched football while we opened presents. ๐Ÿ˜€

WannaBee2BridalBee:  We had sex. It was the first time we had been alone in over week and after all the stress we had had, and all the alcohol i had consumed, we just got right to it as soon as we entered the hotel room. The fact that he was now my husband just made it so much more special, and we had been together for almost 6 years at that point. and then we pigged out on leftover food and passed out ๐Ÿ™‚

Our reception ended around midnight, so it was probably around one when we got back to the hotel.  We were staying in a hotel with all of the wedding party, and had hired a big shuttle to bring everyone back to the hotel.  My husband and I had barely had a drink all day (we were too busy and overheated) but our friends were quite drunk.  My husband helped me peel out of my wedding attire.  I was so sweaty and gross that I decided to take a bath.  My husband went to take a shower, because we had a suite with 2 full bathrooms.  Just as I get in the bathtub, my maid of honor started texting/calling my phone and knocking on the door.  I called her back.  Apparently she couldnt unzip her bridesmaid dress and was stuck in it, and she was upset that our best man had drunkenly stolen her to-go container of leftover cake and locked himself in a bathroom to eat it.  I got her out of her dress but told her it was probably too late to do anything about the cake.  My mom had an entire platter of leftover cake and cookies in her room that we could have in the morning, anyway.  She went away and we finished our bath/shower.  Afterward, we determined that we were seriously hungry.  We searched the room for leftover food from when the girls had gotten ready in the morning.  We found a bag of twizzlers candy with 2 left, so we each ate a twizzler.  We thought about going to my parents’ room to beg for food, but decided it would be lame to go find my parents on our wedding night.  I had purchased cute lingerie for the occasion, but my husband knew how uncomfortable I had been over the last few hours, and told me to save it for our honeymoon.  I put on cuddly pajamas and we talked for a little while about the day, then had sex.  We had always used condoms over our 5 years together, and we had agreed to stop using them after we were married.  So my husband was very excited about that, and the sex was actually very sweet and special.  After that, my husband joked that I needed to change my name on facebook, so I actually did it sometime around 3am.  (Everyone laughed at me for that)  We were meeting everyone for breakfast the next morning, so we snuggled up and went to bed.  I actually kind of think our wedding night was awesome… silly but magical at the same time.  And the best man apparently has no memory whatsoever about the cake incident.

WannaBee2BridalBee:  I honestly just wanted to get out of my dress, despite the fact that it was beautiful and I really loved wearing it. I wanted a few moments of peace and quite to myself, after the day’s hustle and bustle, so I was glad when my husband said he’d forgotten his night bag at our apartment, and needed a quarter of an hour to pick it up (we spent the night in a hotel that was close to our home by design, as his family was also staying there for the wedding and we wanted to be able to drop by to visit them). Spending time to unwind in the bath was awesome.

After I’d finished my bath and taken off my makeup, we spent some really sweet moments drinking complimetary sparkling wine and reading some of the cards we’d brought away from our reception venue. Yes, we did have sex, and it was good. And unlike the night before our wedding, I slept like a baby the night after.

LaPetiote:  I sat in the bath while my husband helped me take out my beaded hair ornament. I had less than 10 hair pins in my hair, but that hair ornament took a sweet while to get out. I knew I need to get it out before I passed out, if I wanted to be able to wear it again.

Once we were dropped off at our bridal suite around midnight, we both were eager to change out of our wedding attire. I snuck into the bathroom and slipped into my secret snazzy little lingerie number (for the first time ever for him). He was appreciative of my efforts and we consumated the heck out of our marriage immediately. I was a little concerned that we may get a call about the ruckus, but we must’ve had very understanding or deep sleeping neighbors.

THEN came the hour long bobbypin/fake eyelash/contact/caked on makeup removing session and long jacuzzi bubble bath. And then the best sleep I’d had in ages.

Being married is the best <3

After we got everyone out of the ballroom, me and Darling Husband and a handful of guests went to the lounge in the hotel and played VLTs and had a couple more drinks.  I tell Darling Husband I’m going up to the room, and I’m not sure what posessed me to put on sweats and a tank top, but I’m glad I did because a drunk Darling Husband and his cousin and cousin’s Fiance came up to the room.  DH and his cousin filled the jacuzzi tub, us girls soaked our feet in it, and Darling Husband and his cousin stripped to their boxers and jumped in.

I shot daggers with my eyes at Darling Husband after about half an hour, and the Fiance caught on and announced  that she wanted a cheeseburger.  I was just drunk enought that I decided I wanted one too.

So at 3am, Fiance, along with his cousin and cousin’s Fiance walked 1.5km to McDonalds to get me a Jr Chicken and a Bacon Double Cheeseburger while I had a nap.  I ate it with relish, and then Fiance and I had some pretty spectacular drunksex and passed out.

We left the reception at 3h30 am, after cleaning everything (me still in the dress, him in is tux) with the help of friends. We had to clean everything then because we where getting on a plane next morning for our honeymoon. We packed the cars, I was squished in the passenger’s seat with my dress, got home (3km away from reception), Darling Husband carried me inside in his arms then unpacked with the help of 2 friends while I made seat reservation for our flight in a couple of hours.

When finally alone (4-ish), he helped get my hair undone out of my dress (he reallyyyy wanted to do it himself, otherwise I would have taken it off way before!) and we did had great sex. We were looking forward to it all day long, no way we weren’t going to consumate it!

We slept for 3 hours then we rushed to the airport! Would not have done it any other way ๐Ÿ™‚

My Darling Husband drank too much throughout the day and was feeling quite ill by the time the wedding ended (poor guy). He collapsed as soon we got into our wedding suite. I had to call one of my bridesmaids to come get me out of my dress. I was sore from setting up at the wedding venue the day before and getting low during the reception, so I collapsed into bed as well. I honestly could not imagine having sex that night–it just wouldn’t have been possible. We consumated the following morning.

Darling Husband was pretty drunk and I was exhausted. We hung out with friends for 30 minutes once the reception ended and then went to our room.  We had sex but it was not very exciting or magical! Lol

We both had so much energy! People started slipping out the doors, so we held our departure early to get good photos of all the sparklers, so we were still doing great by the time we were alone. He spent a good half hour helping me get my hair down and all the pins out. And then…

*Fade to black*

Don’t ask me about the next morning, though. Alarm went off at 6 and we were not ready.

Darling Husband and I walked from the reception sit back to our hotel room. He helped me get out of my wedding dress and my disgusting, sweaty shapewear. We laughed about how gross we both were. I took a bath, he took a shower, and then we snuggled up and fell asleep in each others’ arms.

We took a car back to our hotel and went for a walk on Dupont Circle. Then we went to the hotel restaurant and sipped champagne and ate mussels and frites in our wedding clothes. It was the second best part of the whole day! Stayed up until 3am talking. It was so hard to fall asleep!!
