Sorry for the millionth post bees, but I am in so much pain. Is this normal? On Sunday (day 13 of my cycle) I started feeling slight abdominal and back pain. The slight pains continued yesterday but got a little worse. Today I’m in a lot of pain.
Is this normal? Do I need to call my doctor?

@Evie19: day 13 of your cycle sounds like ovulation pains. but if these are not normal pains or you are concerned, yes, call your doctor. you might or might not need an appointment. the nurse at the office can usually help.

Perhaps you have a cyst? I almost always get ovarian cysts right after I ovulate.
Sorry you are in so much pain. I just had a NASTY cyst last night, so I can comiserate!

Thanks guys. Either way- if they are ovulation pains or a cyst from ovulation…I would be thrilled that I ovulated!
I took Clomid from days 4-8 of my cycle. Would I ovulate that quickly on day 13?
urchin, I’m sorry you had a bad cyst. :-/

I get pain almost every month when I ovulate–a phenomenon called “Mittelschmerz” by the medical community. The first time I noticed it, I was afraid I had a kidney infection until I thought about a) human female anatomy and b) the time of the month. If it is a cyst, the pain will increase and you might even spike a fever. In any case, if the pain is unbearable or increasing in intensity you should call your Dr.! Good luck with the ovulating and all 🙂

@LoveBugBee: Oh crap..it is increasing in intesity. Man. I really hope it’s not a cyst. I’ll go visit him tomorrow.
If it’s a cyst, does that mean my chances to concieve this cycle are very low?

@Evie19: No, not at all! Just see what the doctor says.

I would say this sounds more like a cyst than ovulation pains. It is still possible you just ovulated or are about to which may have triggered the pain, but in my experience my ovulation pains only lasted a few hours at most never multiple days. Good luck!

Great news everyone! I don’t have a cyst, and it looks like the clomid is working. 🙂
The pain was from ovulation- one of my follicles bursting, and there is another follicle ready to burst. Yay!
