I really love a lot of dresses I’ve seen (I’ve only tried on one!) but my budget does NOT have room for an $8000 dress. I’ve seen some Etsy sites that have some BEAUTIFUL dresses, and I just wanted to get the opinion of others. Anyone use Etsy for their dress? What about a really detailed/intricate dress
(I’m in LOVE with Bijou by Amsale)
Think it can be replicated? Or should I just buy something I can try on and afford?

I got my dress from dressilyme.com (thanks to this forum) and LOVE it! They did fantastic work! The dress honestly was great quality and I couldn’t tell the difference between the real one I tried on and the one I got from them. It is a china house so their english isn’t the best but they really do amazing work. There’s quite a few threads on wedding bee about them already.

I don’t think the replica sites will nail the Amsale Bijou. I bet there are plenty that can do a textured skirt.
Have you considered looking for a sample or preowned dress?
The pre-owned sites:
The sample/resale shops:
*b&m = brick and mortar, meaning that operate an physical store
Some “mall stores” are now selling bridal gowns as well. I feel like I’ve seen some pretty textured skirts on the Nordstrom site.

Hmm.. Im gettin a replica from Jasmines bridal- I feel incredibly incredibly 100% comfortable with them. From the reviews on here and their FB pictures, I know they can do MY dress beautifully… but I think you should contact them yourself and see or look through thier work to get an idea of thier craftsmenship. I think youll like em though!

Love my Dressily Me dress…they nailed it! I think that they will tell you if they can’t do it. I know Jasmine’s can do the skirt like you show and so can a few others…I got quotes! Best of luck to you, I honestly think replicas are the way to go. I paid 1/10 of the price and need NO alterations.

@mink: I worry about them not really being able to “get” the bijou bottom too…. but the cheapest I’ve seen it is $4k, which is still far beyond my budget, and like a street size 8 or smaller – which I’m not. There are many beautiful options out there though, I have lots of eye candy now – thank you!
Thanks for the sites/advice, ladies! I have a lot more research to do!

I’m getting my engagement dress from DressilyMe if the quote is right and they can do it in time. Can let you know how it goes if you remind me. I’ve researched loads of them, and have come to the following conclusions from the comments of others:
DressilyMe are supposed to be reliable and cheap. However, they’re not great at ruffles and ruching, and some of their fabrics are supposed to be a bit… meh (eg I’ve heard bad things about their Organza). But the pics of their work are lovely, and some of their beading is mmmmm yummy… They may not be able to make a dress like this though… email them and ask, they should be honest with you.
Jasmine Bridal look amazing, plus you can use designer grade fabrics there (proper silk, real French lace) for an extra charge. They are expensive, for a dressmaking place, but I think you will get what you paid for (that said, I have not ordered from them, but may well get my wedding dress from there).

In regards to what @Rachel631: said : Jasmines stuff is amazing but like Rachel631 said you can also get designer or premium. Ive seen most of thier premiums and they look very similiar to the Originials and their designers always almost look better then the original itself.. No idea how but seriously! you have many options though..
2) designer ( double the price of premium )
Or you can go for 1)- Premium with designer craftsmenship or Premium with Designer materials.. either way they will increase the price to half

@LibraryBride2013: My dress were made by jasmines bridal. Its not a textured dress and less complicated than your dress. Also I never tried the real dress, so I didnt compare with the original. This is my dress Tara Keely 2056.
