Please don’t think I’m being judgmental because I’m not, but I am extremely curious how people find out about this website. In particular, I’m wondering about the people who are not only ‘waiting’ but those who are in very new relationships where the topic of marriage hasn’t even been hinted at.
In my case, I stumbled across the site when I did a search for Rosa Clara gowns, and I have to admit that it’s a great community and one I’m very happy to be a part of.

I was engaged by the time I found it, but I was actually looking for something to do with my company’s picnic (don’t remember the search exactly) but it brought me to a link for the Vendor Reviews section.

@anothersmith: I found this site when I started googling wedding stuff. Not necessarily gowns but wedding ideas and venues before getting engaged. I am definitely hooked… and hope I get more ideas for my spring wedding through the bees and the bloggers!

I was a BM in a friend’s wedding, googling things, and stumbled upon it a few times. But then I started googling moissanite and this site came up a lot. I recognized it from previous searches. I stuck around and finally joined as a waiting bee.
As a note: I may be waiting, but that sure doesn’t mean marriage isn’t discussed between SO and me. But I know some girls are on here without have even brought it up to their SO.

I had family issues when I got engaged and needed advice on etiquette, other than that I’m just a “reader” not too much of a “poster.”

I found this site while I was waiting… I think I must have found a tutorial or something. The blogs were the first things I read, not the boards! I don’t remember exactly >_<*

I googled wedding forums and found this one. I was engaged and planning and thought it would be fun to talk to others planning 🙂

To answer your question about people stumbling upon this site when they are not near marriage.. I know a few ladies I’ve chatted with on this site have found it while being a bridesmaid and looking for tips on throwing a bridal shower, etc.
Me? Personally? I had been dating DH for 4 years and was googling crazy-ass things like “WHY WONT HE PROPOSE TO ME?”
Found the waiting boards and never left. 😉

The first time I found it was when my husband and I had been together for about three years, but before we got engaged. I was looking into secular ceremonies. I read the post that came up and didn’t really realize what Weddingbee was (multiple bloggers, boards, galleries, etc.) I thought it was just some girl’s blog.
As we got closer to engagement (we custom made a ring together, so I knew it was coming) weddingbee kept popping up in wedding-realted google searches so I explored more and lurked a lot. I think I joined about 4 months before we got engaged.

We were already engaged when a friend who was also engaged recommended that I checkout the Bee. And I’ve stayed after the wedding because the nesting forums are fun and I can hopefully offer some good advice to other Bees. That and I am helping a friend plan her wedding now. 🙂

I was googling rings because I was looking at what style I wanted so I could pick out the ring before we got engaged and found the site.

I attended a wedding this summer of a friend I had fallen out of touch with when I was abroad. Her invites went out a little late and despite receiving a save the date, I had a period of wondering if she wasn’t inviting me at all. This was problematic since I had to travel out of town. So I was googling all sorts of stuff in regards to save the dates and invite timing. I found this board and saw that there was a LDR section so I was intrigued since I am in a LDR. Since then I’ve been addicted generally because it’s such a fast-moving and expanse board so there’s always lively non-wedding conversations going on!

I found it when I was looking for info to set up my candy bar. 🙂 And after that I was hooked!

I found it after I had gotten engaged and was looking for blogs to add to my RSS feed…didn’t realize there were boards for about a month. 🙂
