This is my first month on my new pill with 24 active pills and 4 sugar pills.
My first sugar pill will be taken on Wednesday, when should I expect my period?
And because there are only 4 sugar pills does that mean my period will only be for 4 days?

@AussieSummer: I usually get my period the day I start the sugar pill.. but my body is probably already used to the cycle. Dont freak out if it starts the 2nd day of the sugar pill. and it should only last 4 days if thats how many sugar pills.

I usually get mine on the 2nd or 3rd day off, but I’m on a 7 day break.

For years I was on 21 days on and 7 days off pills. I always got my period on the 3rd or 4th day of sugar pills.

Just because there are 4 sugar pills doesn’t mean that your period will necessarily only last 4 days, at least not at first. This is the goal of packs with 24 active/4 sugar pills, but it might take several cycles for this to be the case.

I think the first month will be abnormal. Typically I would get mine on the first or second blank day but sometimes it would run over until the first or second pill of the next pack.

I am on my third pack of birth control pills…. the first one, I had 2 days of bleeding, the second one 7 days, I don’t know about this one yet until 2 weeks.
So 2 days was great! I thought hey, I don’t have to worry about this anymore! But the next month it was 7 days…. Not very consistent! LOL

I was on one brand of pills for about 5 or 6 months and NEVER got a period. I ended up switching brands because i was tired of spending money on pregnancy tests making sure that’s why I wasn’t having a period. When I switched I had my period twice two months in a row! It was terrible. Sometime it just takes your body time to get used to it. Just make sure you are always prepared!

Mine always came after 2 sugar pills, sometimes 3. And yes, you should have a shorter period, close to 4 days.
