(Closed) Really hating Directv right now

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with them.  I have had Directv for many years now and love it.  Occasionally we will have a problem and when we call them they tell us the usual of removing the card and unplugging…all that jazz.  When those things don’t fix the problem they always set up a service call for someone to come out and look at it.  We don’t have a protection plan so I don’t understand why they are telling you that.  I would personally call them, humor them once more with what they say to do and when that dosen’t work, tell them you need some one to come out.  If they refuse or give you excuses first get a supervisor on the phone and if that dosen’t work….threaten them with cancelling thier services. 

Did you purchase your receiver from another source like Best Buy or is it from Directv?

I agree with gwynth, call them pretending to do all they ask you to do and then when it doesn’t work, ask them to come out.  If they say no, then threaten them with cancelling your service if they don’t come out and fix it.

My parents have Directv and I loved it.

We have Dish Network, we’ve had it since January and they installed it said they’d be back the next day to put the dishes on poles and never came back… Now they’re refusing to come out and do it. We’ve had wires laying across our yard all summer because they wouldn’t send someone back out. The last time we called they said we would have to pay and find some tech person to do it ourselves.

Oh, and we saw a commercial the other day where they are claiming they don’t make you pay for HD, but we sure the heck are!

Doesn’t matter who you have, they can all be irritating sometimes, especially about the little things.
