Tulle would be much less expensive.  If it is a tall ceiling and you don’t want to spend the money-I would use tulle.  I don’t know what a T bar ceiling is, but someone else posted about lifting the ceiling tiles and  using a partly opened paper clip so that the ceiling doesn’t get damaged.  You might just ask the venue?  Perhaps they know what has worked in the past.

Paper clips. You can hook the tulle with the paper clip unbend the clip into an L shape and slide. The other end between the tile and the t bar.

There are special clips you can buy at the home depot etc for use on the T bars of suspended ceilings. They are inexpensive, sturdier and less likely to tear the fabric than paper clips.
