so ive purchased my dress! but now im really stuck on what to have for shoes, veil and jewelery.
Here is the dress:
Im planning on having a purple hoop skirt underneath, but i really like to have white shoes for my wedding day – will that look ok or should i go for purple? im trying to look for plain white peep toes so i can add a bit of blingy lace to it to hopefully match the dress.
the dress has a semi – cathedral train on it, so i love the look of a longer veil to trail behind it – just not sure on what details the veil should have. im not a real lacey gal, but the dress is all lace – which ill be adding bling to spark it up a bit. does anyone have any examples that can inspire me? im planning on having it custom made.
as for jeweery – i have no idea. i love gold chandelier earings – but they are a bit hard to find at a readsonable price. what style of jewelery do you think will suit?
thanks for you help – i really need some inspiration here!

Firstly, that is a beautiful dress!!
I love the idea of having a hint of purple underneath. What about having ivory shoes with either a purple shoe clip, or painting (glitterizing?) the sole of your shoes purple to match the underskirt? That way it’s not too obvious purple but a little hint.
I think your dress is so ornate that a plain cathedral or chapel length veil would be nice, I would keep it simple though so that it doesn’t take away from the dress.
I think some chandelier earrings will go perfectly! I’d look on eBay for those…they seem to good pieces at fair prices!

Oh i should add the dress is going to be white 🙂
Thanks for the opinions on the veil Aussiebee, i was initially thinking id go for a simple veil, but now leaning towards a lace border. But then again it may look a bit too much. I havent got a clue about matching things lol

@Missbubbly: With a lace dress, you either want to find a veil that has lace that harmonizes very closely with it (can be tricky/expensive to do) or else, as a PP recommended, keep the veil plain. I lucked out and found a veil with lace very similar to that on my dress – here are some pics:
On the bottom pic, the middle (slightly darker) row of lace is the edge of my gown’s train, the other two rows are two of the veil’s tiers. If you are looking for lace that will complement your gown, it would be helpful to post a close-up pic of the gown’s lace so people can see the pattern. Have you looked on the WB classifieds under Veil? You could post a “looking” thread there with some pics, closeups, etc., and check out some of the “for sale” threads. RecycledBride and PreOwnedWeddingDresses are also good resources.

I love you dress, can’t wait to see a picture with the purple underneath! I think white shoes with the embellishments you described will look beautiful and sound like they would suit you to a T 🙂
That being said I love colour (currently sporting rainbow marbled nails) so if it were me I’d take any chance I could to wear coloured shoes. If my Fiance hadn’t requested the white dress I be rocking a coloured gown as well 😉
As for the jewlery, well I think you need to figure out how you are wearing you hair first, then you can decid how low the earring need to hand for them to be visible.

@Missbubbly: I don’t think a lace veil will be too much, but like a PP suggested, you have to make sure the lace doesn’t clash with your dresses lace…I do love lace veils. I’ve opted for a lacey bolero with my dress so have gotten a plain veil – I didn’t want to over do the lace, but I think if you get something that is similar, it could look really pretty.
Did the store you got it from have any veils for you to try on?
