We haven’t ordered them yet, don’t have wording and don’t even have a person/location to order from. Am I totally screwed? We ended up canceling our meeting with the one woman because Fiance hated the invitation and the proposal was really high.
So now we are back to square one, but now have barely any time! I am feeling completely overwhelmed! Jan ladies, have you all ordered your invites already? Any ideas, words of encouragement?

Huh? For January?
My wedding is a month later than yours. I probably won’t send out invites until mid-November.
They don’t take that long to print unless you’re trying to do something very complicated. Stationers are a dime a dozen and I’m sure you can locate one with a good eye and a quick turnaround. In fact, what’ll probably end up taking more time is addressing and stamping envelopes!

My wedding is Jan 29th and we havent ordered ours yet either. I think we will get them late Oct. My man is insisting we wait until early December to mail them out, Im saying Thanksgiving. I just dont want anyone forgetting during the holidays. We know where we want them from and have an idea for wording but Im really not too worried for time. Im more so concerned about this darn wedding cake and catering.

I DIY’d, so I’m not an expert on ordering invites, but I wouldn’t think you’re screwed at all. I’d definitely be browsing now, and maybe ordering by end of Oct at the latest.

I do actually have my invitations already, but did not expect to have this soon. I placed my order at the end of August and was told to expect them by 9/29/10. They arrived Tuesday.
I think it also depends on what type of invitations you want: engraved, letterpress, thermography, or just flat printing?
Check out the posts here in the “paper” section and hopefully you’ll get some ideas of what you might like to have as well as where to get it.
Best of luck to you and don’t worry about it 🙂

My date is the day before yours. I DIYed mine, and they are all done, except for the addressing. But, I’m not mailing until Oct 15, a month from now (3 months from the wedding). You should have a month at minimum, or two months to get them out in the mail. You should be fine, but you need to get on it! Good luck!

My wedding is two weeks before yours and I ordered (paid the depoist) for my custom invitations two weeks ago. I will send them out at the end of Oct. and by the first week in Nov. The lady that is making my invitations told me that you should send out invitations 8 to 6 weeks in advance. I think you still have time, but you need to make decisions soon. Have you thought about ordering online?

I totally don’t think you’re screwed!
Check out Heather at http://www.letterpresslight.com she’s AWESOME! Really good prices and customization (though her already designed stuff is great!).

Try MINTED.COM I heart that website.
They have an assortment of different designers, both offset and letterpress and you can type in your wording and get a preview without purchasing anything!

I don’t think you’re screwed at all! I ordered mine already, I haven’t gotten them yet but I’m not sending them out until the first week of November. I think you have plenty of time 🙂

Mine were DIY but they were finished the day before they went in the mail!
Seriously don’t stress. Your not screwed and have plenty of time to find the perfect invite. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. I would suggest just searching for styles you like best that was you have an idea narrowed down when you do find someone to order from. Good luck

Mine too were completely DIY. B/c of that I started working on them REALLY early! I am planning on starting the addressing in October with the “to be sent” date of October 31. I think you have some time but might want to get on top of it so you’ll have plenty of time to get them finished! Good luck!

Don’t stress! My wedding is the week before yours and we have only just ordered ours and are still in the review stage with Bella Figura. Once our final design is locked in (hopefully by the end of this week) they will have to be printed and shipped to Australia! We want to mail them by the beginning of November and we should be fine.
Take deep breaths, find a provider with a turn-around time that fits your schedule and chillax! You have heaps of time!
