BAH! My cheap walmart sheets are sooooo smooth and comfy compared to my fancy schmancy name brand 800 thread count egyptian cotton get-another-job-to-pay-that-off sheets from BBB. The wallyworld ones never pill either, and I do throw them in with towels weekly, they’re a few years old now.

    Bunch of phooey.

You might try bamboo sheets. They are really sensual, have a wonderful “hand”, (meaning they lay on your body eally nicely), come in a lot of colors, fit deep pocket matresses and last a long time. A 300 thread count bamboo sheet is really smooth and feels good to sleep on. When you see a 1200 thread count for cotton, it means they have woven 4 threads at 300 thread count. So, 300 thread count bamboo is really smooth, like silk. I got mine at http://bambooforlife.com .

I am picky about things like this too but recently ran into a jam where I needed to buy new sheets that day and the only store around was Sears. Blarg. I grabbed the only ones there that didn’t seem awful and bought them. Was I stunned to find that I LOVE these sheets! They are made by Country Living and they are very thick and a nice mix of crisp yet soft. They also have all these extra features like elastic inside the pillowcases to keep them from sliding around and buttons that connect the top sheet to the fitted sheet so that it doesn’t pop off. They fit generously on my deep pillow-top mattress. They are great!
