So I’m exactly 8 months out from my wedding and I had my first wedding nightmare last night. I am not really a “planner” and am pretty easy going about things so it doesn’t make sense that I’m having nightmares already!
I won’t bore you with all the details but basically it was the day of my wedding and I decided to cut my hair super short (I am currently growing it out for the wedding).
Then we couldn’t find my dress, I had forgotten to hire a hair and makeup person, and we had only 15 minutes until the ceremony.
I was running around frantically trying to find my dress and figure out how I was going to get my now super curly bob into the low loose bun I wanted.
Then, across the way, I see a gorgeous bride riding on horseback to her wedding looking absolutely flawless while I’m running around like a crazed person.
I really hope this doesn’t continue for 8 months, or I’ll need spray paint to cover up the dark circles under my eyes!!

I had dreams shortly after getting engaged for about a month! then they went away – i started them again last week and im a little less than 3 weeks away. It seems to happen when im the most stressed – when i first starting freaking out making decisions and putting stuff together, then things calmed once i had thing in place, now that im in the finalizing stage im starting to stress again so here come the nightmares! 3 more weeks and it will all be over. I dont think you will have them all through planning – maybe just when you are subconciously stressing about a particular thing.
mine were mostly either Fiance calling off the wedding or me showing up the day of with nothing planned and no dress

@totheislnds: Maybe…. also it’s funny that my first nightmare came exactly 8 months before my wedding date.
Things are actually coming together nicely, so I’m not sure why I should be stressed right now! I guess I just feel like there is SO much to do!

LOL awww us brides are such a silly bunch!
I have been having nightmares for a while. The thing is though, they are always of really bad things happening the day of but I am always calm and happy. It is weird because I know for a fact I am not that calm in real life lol.

@tranquility: I was just running around like a crazy person. And weirdly I was going through old horseback riding stuff to see what I could give to my trainer and more stressed about THAT then the fact that I had 15 min to style my newly chopped hair, put on make up AND find my dress that had gone MIA.

i had the nightmares early on. as soon as i actually started planning things, they’ve subsided (at least for now!) hopefully they don’t come back before the wedding.

@KatNYC2011: I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had those dreams already… including last night. I was driving myself to my ceremony in some basic white non-wedding dress with my hair and make-up done by me, huge gold gaudy earrings not knowing where I was going to get married. And all I could think of is in the dream… but I just posted on the bee that I was going to get my makeup done professionally!!! Then I got the navigation out in my dream looking for salons in the area. Lovely. I have a year and 4 months to go…. I hate these 🙁

@kitzy: Oh, I hope that’s my case!! I can’t take this anymore. We haven’t deposited on anything yet… nothing really set… so I hope it goes away when we do.

@kitzy: It’s weird because I have so much done already.
Dress is bought, venue booked, caterer booked, DJ booked, hotel rooms blocked, photog almost booked (just reviewing the contract), rentals done, officiant done, bridesmaids dresses picked.
Guess the big things I have left are hair & makeup and flowers… looks like hair and makeup matters more in my subconscious!

I had them all this week! Most vivid was it raining and the Church moving our wedding back a week due to the rain. Yes the Church is inside, and so is the reception. Yes the Church is booked and has been for months. Yes I have heard from the Pastor recently….doesn’t seem to help! I think I’ll be having them for another ten months…
