This is what started it – that “tv critic” that seemed to be confused why Lena Dunham’s character got naked so much in the show. Sexist tones aside, as a tv critic, his question clearly illustrated that he missed the entire point of the show.
You can love or hate the show GIRLS on HBO – that doesn’t bother me. I don’t really like it all that much myself but Mr. Sircus worked on the first two seasons and always has good stories to go along with certain episodes so it’s fun to watch sometimes. But for the most part – it’s not my cup of tea.
What bothers me is how people consider Lena Dunham’s nudity in the show to be unnecessary when i don’t think that’s the case at all. She’s a regular girl that’s naked a lot. TMI but before FI moved in – I was always naked. I’d come home and usually just strip down to my undies and live my life in my home (shades drawn.) I eat cake in the bath tub. All that “weird” and “gross” stuff you see Hannah Horvath do in the show…I’VE DONE!
I feel like the uproar over GIRLS just demonstrates how simple-minded so many people are. It shows that:
1. Nobody likes the semi fat girl that’s not totally ashamed of herself.
B. If there’s a nude scene for “no reason”, aka if it’s not going to get me hard, it must be purely for attention or ratings.
