@raspberry bride:  I was worried when I saw my engagement photos too (and I had gained weight as well) and like I said above, the sneak peaks from my wedding day are some of my favorite pictures of myself. Weight and physical appearance are nothing on the happiness and glow of a bride ๐Ÿ™‚

@amandasf:  I am so anal and type “A” and like a previous poster said, it didn’t matter on my wedding day. I was so happy and content and not stressed in the least bit (complete opposite of everyday life, lol). You are going to be very surprised and in a good way ๐Ÿ™‚

@OliveT:  I REALLY hope so.  Lately everything my family does and everything my Future Mother-In-Law says gets on my nerves.  I think on the actual day I am going to be so relieved that the wedding is over I might actually be happy! haha.

@amandasf:  In all honesty, you probably won’t even have time to speak more than a few sentences to them

@MeeshelleMyBelle:  Same here. All i do all day long is look at other brides picks and feel sorry for myself. Is my dress good enough? Should I have picked something more dramatic? Will I look fat? …it’s endless. I think EVERY single bride feels this way. In the end, there is no ugly bride like my mom says. You will look gorgeous! We are our harshest critics so don’t worry about it!

I was a plus size bride (and you do not look plus size AT ALL) so I was unbelievably worried about this.  My advice? Get a hair/makeup trial and be very honest about what you like, don’t like.  I felt so much better knowing that my hair/makeup people and I were on the same page.  I even had my friend take pictures on my phone, so that I could take them with me when I went in on my wedding day and say “see this part, I want it ever so slightly different!”  And, be sure to tell your photographer specifics about what you like.  For instance, I straight up told my photographer – I’m chunky, photograph me from up high not from below – no chunky girl looks good that way!!!

I still feel that way and my wedding has come and gone. I look at pictures on WB and see all these gorgeous brides and I just don’t feel as pretty when I look at my own pictures.

*sigh*

I worry about this too… horribly!  All the above it true for me as well – I’ve gained weight, haven’t lost as much as I wanted, etc etc.  About the only thing I’m really happy with right now is that I’ve let my hair grow long enough!  Tomorrow is the first day I’m going to try dresses on and I’m so worried my super skinny Bridesmaid or Best Man is going to tell me one more time how she weighed 108 lbs. at her wedding.  Not helping!!! I just don’t want to look like a short, roly poly bride!

I think it’s normal to be concerned about how your pics will turn out. I myself have spent a HUGE chunk of my cake on makeup, face lotions, primers, creams, tanning and fake tanning (to get the just right but not orange bridal glow), pro hair cut/color, gym memberships, etc. on making sure I look my best for the big day,,,in the ned i’m exausted and I dont’ e en know if all I’ve spent will even ensure i look better than usual. but I just keep on hoping~!
