wedding planning from afar sucks..lol and im getting the usual whatever you want honey from darling fiance. lol im wondering if a venue near the airport would be best for us as we will have quite a few out of town guests…
anyone use one..any thoughts…somewhere i can do both ceremony and reception..emailing places now and planning to visit in july

Have you looked at the Mayernick Center? If you want a rustic feel, I’ve heard its reasonable.
Otherwise, it really depends on how many people you plan to invite, what type of “atmosphere” you want the wedding to have, etc.

I second the above. We are having our reception there because it’s close to the airport for all of our out of town guests. It’s also very reasonable and holds 130-140 comfortably. I also liked that we can supply our own alcohol.
The only thing is… are you getting married October 2011? They book really fast, so I think it would be a stretch for October 2012 even. Worth a shot, though!

Our original plans were Oct. US immigration is so slow looking more like jan-feb..i need to change that huh? lol
And we are looking at a morning ceremony and brunch and are flexible on the days so hopefully all that helps

If you just want to have a brunch are aren’t thinking you want dancing, you can check out the restaurant Willow. Their prices are reasonable, and the private rooms are gorgeous, but when I had talked to them they mentioned they didn’t really have space for dancing (but that they would occasionally still have couples do a first dance). If you’re thinking more of the hotel wedding, I think the Embassy Suites thats by the airport/in Moon is really nice.

@JoshsTammy: I think you should look into the Embassy Suites ( I am partial as I’m having my wedding there) but it sounds like it has everything you need:
* close to airport w/ shuttles
* ceromony and reception in same space
* hotel rooms for overnight/out of town guests
It’s a great venue. Below is the link for it and feel free to PM me with any questions! GL!
