OOOo i hear ya. Jim Hjelm is over $200, more in the $250 range. Broke my heart!

If you send pictures to the seamstresses in Ebay (or even a local one depending on if you can find it) they can "recreate" the dress for less, by substituting a less expensive material or simply because it isn’t a "designer" gown.

I bet you can get them made for $100 each, tops. And your ladies will appreciate it. I’m in a wedding wtih a $180 dress, and while i’m OK with that, it also means i have to skimp on her gifts for her showers and stuff, which kind of sucks. If she had picked out cheaper gifts, I could have spent that money elsewhere on her!

Jim Hjelm is more than you would like to spend, but have you checked out House of Brides online?  I know Mrs. Penguin was happy with her experience ordering her Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses there and from what I’ve heard they’ve gotten other good reviews.
