Bacchus in Brooklyn

Montauk Club in Brooklyn

We’re having ours in a restaurant for $35pp (100 people).  But we’re dealing with some issues that come up when you have a venue that doesn’t really have weddings that often.

@mabinqueens: Did you end up booking Waters Edge? I am getting married there September 2011.

I don’t see many other brides on here with this as their venue but I loved it…

@Margie1018. Yes! We booked at Water’s Edge. We loved it, too. I really felt so comfortable with Nicole (is that who you have been dealing with?) and you really can’t beat the views. We also ate there, and really enjoyed the food!

Has anyone here received pricing from Battery Gardens Restaurant for Feb 2011? I am getting married in feb 2012 and just wanted to see if what I was receiving from them was competitive.

Tks!

Hi Jiggly!

I love that we have this weddingbee relationship going on:) I ended up booking with Water’s Edge. Amazing package and very happy. Signed the contract last week. Did you go to Ravel again?

@ jamapa40Yea, I was quoted $120 plus tax plus tip for Saturday niights in Feb. 2011.  I got that quote about 9 months ago.  Also, that was with a 160-guest minimum (the # of guests I’m having) which is higher than the minimum that BG requires, so they dropped the rate to a bit lower than their standard rates.  Hope that helps!

Bumping because I am now looking for a venue.  I would prefer Brooklyn or Manhattan but would take anywhere in NYC.  The maximum amount of people to be at our reception would be about 50 (planning on having the ceremony somewhere in the park or city hall)help please!

drummingsong:  With 50 people you could do a restaurant wedding. You could probably rent out the back room (or even buy out the restaurant if that’s in your budget). There are many restaurants that offer weddings and can handle that number of people. I can make further recommendations based on your vibe and cuisine you like. 🙂

drummingsong:  I would definitely second the suggestion of a restaurant. Also, I’d look into Diety in Brooklyn – I can’t remember what the minimum count was but the costs were really reasonable compared to some other venues I checked out.

I’d also consider having the wedding January-March and/or a Sunday or Friday if you really want the costs to go down.

drummingsong:  check Norwood club, the W loft (Brooklyn), ISA (Brooklyn), Alger house.

Don’t hesitate to write to them. Depending on the time of year and time of day they can be more accomodating to small budgets.

EDIT: OOps! just checked and ISA is apparently closed now! Crazy..Kinda happy we didnt go with them for our wedding in 3 weeks!
