I am at a total loss as to where to even begin planning our wedding (and we’re 6+ months in to our engagement…oops!). I’ve considered wedding planners for a while, but could really use any help at all narrowing down my options. We’re aiming for a chic but unique wedding (think garden or art gallery vs. hotel ballroom) – so I’d really like to find a young/funky kind of wedding planner. I’ve done some research, but found a lot of generic planning companies, or have been baffled by the prices ($4000??).
Anyone have any feedback (good or bad) on a planner you’ve used/know personally, etc?

I loved my planner, Katie from Sara Kate Events. She is based out of NY, but used to live in Boston and works up there a lot also. We had a long discussion about Boston one day (thinking of moving there). Anyway, she was so sweet and helpful and probably the best money I spent for the wedding. Also, she is quite reasonably priced as far as planners go and I researched a bunch before I found them. www.sarakateevents.com

I TOTALLY recommend Karen Murphy at Celebrations by KFM. She was amazing!!!!! We wanted something that wasn’t your average wedding but was still fun and romantic. She came through BIG time. Karen found the perfect location in Key Largo for us. We got married in April and ALL of our guests are still talking about our wedding. No detail was forgotten. She literally loves details and was so patient with me when it gave me hives! She was so passionate about giving us exactly what we wanted that it felt like she was family.
A friend of a friend recommended her and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
And price was a major factor for us because we were paying for our wedding ourselves — Karen was so reasonable that we couldn’t believe it.
Let me know if you have any questions!!!

I posted this on your other thread:
Pink Orchid Weddings has had very good reviews.
I personally didn’t hire a planner because my venue “package” comes with a coordinator. If you’ve narrowed down a list of your top venues, when talking to them, ask about who handles the event. There were several I found in Boston with on-site coordinators- of course they all handle different things so ask lots of questions!

We used Edna Dratch-Parker of EFD Creative. She’s awesome and so great at helping to coordinate every part of the wedding. Check out her website: http://efdcreative-events.com/#/home If you look through the event photos you may even get a peak at the Moose wedding : )
