I wish. The only thing I found when I was looking was cave B which was expensive. Although not sure if September is considered off season and cheaper. Also though if you want snow capped mountains in september you won’t find them at the gorge. It’s all hot and desert out there, we actually just drove through abut an hour ago on ur way home from Idaho.

Oh haha sorry! i was thinking “the gorge” area, of course the Columbia river spans much farther  than just that area! Yes that part it is very dry during the summer and there aren’t really any mountains that far east, just a lot of hills etc. It does get cold in the winter though and gets a lot of snow.

The fact that you posted this in Portland should have tipped me off haha

Hmm, I guess Skamania Lodge doesn’t fall into the “reasonable” category?

I don’t know that there is one that fits within your budget. Have you thought about the Vista House? That may be a good option for you! You can always check out Multnomah Falls as well, I don’t think that’s too horrific in terms of cost.

How many people? If your guests are fit there are hikes that might have enough space at the top for a wedding! 🙂 I was going to suggest vista house too but I think it’s pricey. Try searching the Washington side, maybe cheaper options. Also you don’t have to go too far out of Portland to get a good view of Mt. Hood. Try places in Troutdale or closer in Gresham, Powell Valley area.

Vista house is actually closed for the remainder of 2012. Oh but hey! I just learned how to read…and I see that your wedding is in 2013!!! Good news!! Wink  lol.

I’m totally down to hear about cheap venues.  I have a very small wedding. like…maybe 30 people.  New Years Eve. This year.

Yep.

No venue. No dress.

BUT I HAVE A GROOM! hahahahaha. That’s all that matters. We’ll probably end up at the JOP. Undecided

Try this site Gorgeous NW Weddings maybe it will have information that will be useful for you. The magazine is based in the gorge and they are having a bridal fair in March that might be helpful. Best Wishes.
